    Vidic and Ferdinand were both better than him last year. Carvalho is also a better player.

      The best defender in La Liga last season isn't even in the team, Garay. Puyol is a great defender but he had a very average season.
      Just believe and you never know what will happen.

      According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

        i agree that puyol is their 'carra' but he isnt anywhere near carra's standard and never will be. Yes he is the heart of their team with xabi because he is catalan not necessarily because he is one of their best players.

        He panics when he has the ball at his feet and gives away too many silly fouls. If you took him out of barca and let him play for another spanish team he wouldnt be anywhere near as effective.

        But saying that you could probably say the same about carra.
