As many on here may know, Mascherano is my favorite Liverpool player. His ability to control the middle third of the field allows our best players to shine, our defenders to recover, our opponents are closed down and his abilities are a crucial component to the team's success. He doesn't score, but he is the most essential player in the team, I think. I love watching him play.
This past summer, when Argentina came to the USA for a friendly in New York City, a friend of mine, an Argentine filmmaker, was able to go back into the Argentine locker room for the pre-match and post-match. He was back there when Mascherano was sent off for near the end of the game for a poor tackle on the messy pitch. I thought you'd be interested to see Mascher behind the scenes after his sending off... I've always wondered what they do back there...

All team! Love it.
Anyway, I hope he is back in our side tomorrow... look forward to seeing him play (as always).
