Perhaps, but they've all been worth every penny imo. and perhaps only Kuyt aside (debatable) they are all worth more than we paid. Utd have spent close to £90m on 3 strikers ffs, and Chelsea have spent silly money.

think you'll find that's less than half the United and Chelsea teams

Thats 87 for a few defenders so i dont think we've blown the record books away, in fact thats the most important bit. record signing level players are few in liverpool but chelsea, man u and soon possibly man city will be buying more of the top level players we 'need'
it makes it all the more important that rafa is supported when he goes for targets when we look back - alves, aguero, berbatov, ashley young. players we've been linked with that we couldn't aford to go for that are now worth much more than when we could afford them
