Torres & Babel or Torres & Keane?

For me, I think we need to try Torres and Babel up front as a partnership now. I think it could be a better combination.

    What do people think?

Robbie Keane played very well last night. We were less effective when Babel came on.

I think we'd lose a lot playing Babel so far forward. When he picks the ball up from deep in our own half he's the only player with the pace to sprint the length of the pitch. He's a nightmare to defend against in that situation.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Play Babel behind Torres, I think it would work a treat

Babel is **** up front - if you've watched him play for the Dutch, he does absolutely nothing. And to be honest, the few times he has played up front for us he has been pretty poor too. He did well against Chelsea but that was largely down to the fact he was picking the ball up in deep positions. He's far better running from deep positions. What's the point in being so skillful and playing so far forward?

Yep, would love to see that partnership. I think it's clear that Babel doesn't have some of the necessary attributes to play up front on his own, one of them being the ability to shield the ball. However, I do think playing him behind Torres would suit his style.

Where do you play Gerrard then?

yup he was invisible when he came on last night.

I think yesterday proved that Babel isn't ready to play up front yet.He changes games far more often when coming on as a winger. We fell apart after Keane went off and I think his contribution to the team is understated. Its only 11 games in, he'll prove his worth

                    Both are fantastic options.

I think Nemeth should become Torres's understudy which would mean Keane would not have to play that role again. I think Keane is best playing behind the striker. Funnily enough, I think we should have played Gerrard upfront yesterday with Keane behind him.

I think the big mistake yesterday was puttin Babel upfront instead of Kuyt.We needed someone to hold the ball up and link the play and thats not Babels game.If we'd have put him wide right and Kuyt up front I think we'd have won the game.

Should've won it either way,we played very well and had one of those days.

                        Oh yeah or Kuyt too.

I think Rafa is more qualified to answer that than you or any of us.

i don't think babel had much of a chance yesterday. we conceded as soon as he came on through no fault of his and then we got nervy whilst they started to believe.

as a lone striker i think he's poor but as part of a front two i think we should at least give him a run. he can't do any worse than keane has to date.

keane and torres hasn't really worked. on paper it should be a great partnership but it isn't. they lack chemistry and sooner or later rafa's gonna have to make a decision. if anything playing keane upfront next to torres takes something away from torres' game imo

                              They've hardly played together yet.
