Thanjk you.

Do you think he's consistent enough for that role though dude? I worry about him playing there and just running into blind alleys rather than having the guile to pick that critical pass for Torres. I can see the idea, I'm just not sure it would work at all well.
I think it's got possibilities of working. I think when he runs at defenders they don't know what to do, has an awesome shot on him too. Think he'd create a lot more space for Torres also

Just an opinion though
Yeah... I think I'm with what Shaggy said above, someone with his pace really should be playing on the shoulder of the last defender rather than as the second striker. I know what you mean about running at defenders, but until Babel is either more consistent or develops better game awareness, I just don't think he'd deliver in that role as much or as often as the other options we have there, Keane included but not exclusively. In games where it worked he could be devestating there, but in games where it didn't we might find far too many attacks breaking down and far too few incisive balls being played.
Also, we were having a discussion in another thread recently about the fact that Babel's only ever played 90mins for us once, and really doesn't seem to be able to maintain a level of performance much beyond 45mins - I dunno why that is, but it does seem to be true, up to now atleast in his liverpool career, I have to say I would be rather reticent to try him in such a crucial position on the pitch until we've seen some progress in that department too.
Something to try in a random cup game against a weaker side maybe, or a league game when we're a couple of goals up perhaps, but at the moment in the vast majority of games I do think Babel is most effective played wide, and probably brought on as a sub when games are getting stretched.

Keane and Torres all day - nothing to do with sat result, it's something that has bugged for 12 months now - i'm just unsure about Babel, I know he has raw ability but again saturday was one of those moments when his head was in the clouds. In factI struggle to remember him touching the ball.
Now if thats because he is being played out of position then why play him there!?! as other have said we could have had other options, moved kuyt up there and stuck babel on the left and benayoun on the right?!
Anyway I hope i'm wrong about babel and would love it he became a great player for us - but for me right now, a season and a bit into his career the jury is still out on him - he will have a flash of brilliance every knwo and then that makes me start to think, believe he is going to be class, but it's followed to often by long periods in the wilderness.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
I'm going to be ****ish and say Torres and Crouch would be the best of the options.
They were **** together
