There is the issue of ownership though, and maybe the reason why they haven't given him a new contract is that they are looking to sell : pray :
    Hope you are right

I can virtually guarantee you it wont happen. The fact that you ask why not, is baffling to me.

I dont want rafa to go, but that's an absurd statement to make.

Who would be good enough to replace him? Will the Spanish players want to stay on? It will have a knock on effect. Valencia are only starting to recover really and still wont win the Spanish league again for a long time.

            Grow up mate.

PS: Title challenges are not measured in November.

A title challenge can be over in November though

Listen mate, half the Chelsea team wanted to leave when Mourinho left - they are still there now lauding it over Scholari their 2nd manager since Jose. Players are fickle *******s, just like fans.

If Rafa goes, we won't die. I have loved what he has done so far this season but he doesn't deserve a new contract yet. e.g. if he was at Madrid, Barcelona, United, Chelsea etc he would be happy to stay in the job with this level of leagie success and no trophy for 2 years.

Chelsea's players are some of the top paid in the World and they play for a club who dont need to sell and dont want to. It's very hard to buy from them unless they want to get rid of you or you want to go.

If Rafa goes I think it will set us back. You want Mourinho in.
                  He is classless.

Shut the **** up and wait till May I say... this is just distabilising the club for his own gain.
Hold the f#ck on here. He is the best young manager in world football IMO. He has been treated disgracefully by the yanks over the last year but has showed class and intergrity in the face of it all. What other club would let his contract reach the last 18 months without even the mention of a new one? You need to shut the **** up on this issue Rashid cause you are bang out of order

How can the best young manager in the world not challenge for the league title in 4 years? Are you suggesting the best young manager in the world needs an Abramovich to finance him? (despite spending more than the othet big 3 these past 2 seasons).

League challenge first, money later Rafa.

The same was said about Mourinho and Chelsea. No man is bigger than the club.

If we can move on after Dalglish, we'd move on if Rafa went too.

rafa has spent more than the other big 3 cause he's had too. our squad that he inherited might have won the CL but we all know they had no right too.....it was poor. only cause of some luck at some great management did we win anything. rafa finally has a squad of his own ( even though it's still not the finished article he would like ) and is showing we can challenge for the league. he DESERVES another contract. give rafa another 3 years i say and lets see what he can really do as our manager. if after those 3 years still no joy then lets look at a replacement ( and i dont give a **** what anyone else thinks, Jose Mourinho should be the man we go for ) but lets hope we never have to replace rafa.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Chelsea are still spending big money and bid over 30m for Robinho in the summer and will no doubt spend big in January. If Rafa goes his sucessor wont have a big budget and have to deal with the headache of boardroom uncertainty and work alongside Parry the clown with transfers and add to that the pressure of winning the league and you wont see many wanting for it. Rafa is the man for the job.

Since Kenny left we have been a cup side.

                              Yawn.

Ok, we will be 'finished', we'll all die and the world will end.

If you think there wont be a huge queue of top managers, should rafa walk, then you're on a different planet to me.

He needs to concentrate on mounting a sustained title challenge and then think about his contract after. This is boring

We gave Houllier a new contract and it ended up costing us big time.
