We all know how hard Kuyt works but has anyone read this article?

1. When Kuyt plays we are 3 times more likely to win.

2. When Kuty plays we are half as likely to concede.

3. On average we pick up twice as many points when he plays to when he doesn't.

So for all those haters out there, I think this proves that Rafa is right and Kuyt should be one of the first names on the team sheet!

I do think he's pretty important to us. Wouldnt go as far as to say top quality, because players like torres obviously represent a higher level than him, so by definition, Kuyt isnt top quality.

There is top quality and there is the few top elite players in the world. You have to be top quality to get a regular game in this Benitez team but world class elite players are the top in the world

But the top is the top. It's like mountains - you might be at the top of a lesser mountain (e.g. Ben Nevis) or you might be at the top of a bigger mountain (e.g. Mont Blanc) or you might be at the top of the highest mountain (Everest, obviously).

So if you're talking the Premiership Mountain then Kuyt would be pretty high up, relative to the summit. If you're discussing the World Footballer Mountain then Kuyt would be further down the slope because the summit is higher.

However, if you're discussing the "quality mountain" then you're assessing where any player might be on that. Being higher quality, Torres is at the top (or at least above) Kuyt. So Kuyt can't be at the top and therefore isn't, by definition, top quality.
