    Liverpool Ladies

    I watched a brilliant match in the FIFA WWC today, where England fought back twice to go through to the semis by beating tournament topscorers Japan on a penalty shootout.

    Noted a couple of young ladies in the team are from the Bluenose club, and it made me think "how little I know about the Liverpool Women's team".

    Can anyone tell me does the club have a serious attitude to the team or are they just little more than a team with the same name?

    to be honest, i dont really know much about the womens football team. but i do know they got beat 11-0 by arsenal..

        Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

              I suspect that there has been very little coverage in England of the FIFA Under 17 WWC, since in doesn't even qualify to get mentioned on the BBC footie page, but having watched a few games, both live and on (NZ) Sky TV, the football has been fabulous. Some of these young ladies could show some of the show ponies in the EPL what the game is all about, both in skill, commitment, and lack of histrionics.

              The game I referred to earlier was as exciting as the Istanbul final, and I say that as a Liverpool fan of 35 years. The football's great, and they all look better than Gary Neville and Anton Ferdinand

                Women's football isn't great though

                I caught a decent amount of the Olympics and the previous world cup and while some of the ladies have talent on the ball the game as a spectacle is let down by appalling goalkeeping, lack of pace, and lack of aggression.

                Some do look pretty tasty though.

                  I agree with you. Cacodemon is right about the goalkeeping though. It's generally awful.
