Interesting. Would that mean that the club had failed miserably to attract outside investment and are now looking to Morgan to eventually take control?

How much of the club does Morgan currently own?

Kev off YNWA seems fairly confident that Morgan is putting money in. I can't see him paying £100m for 35% though.

If my memory serves me correctly , there are currently 35000 issued shares and 15000 un-issued shares . If Morgan was to buy the un-issued shares it would take his holding to around 34.2 % and dilute Moore's shareholding to around 35.7%.

I wouldn't expect Morgan to pay more than £4000 per share so that would be £60 million coming into the club. Of course for £60m he would also want seat(s) on the board etc, and it would be for the current board to decide if they can put up with the other conditions in order to secure the extra money.

would seem that way To be honest, I had 3 problems with morgan taking over Liverpool.
1 - He was valuing the club at about 25 quid, was never gonna get his way with his derisory offer originally.

2 - I never liked the way he used the media so blatantly to favour himself with the fans. Ok, Houllier was bad like, but he was still the manager. Thought it was terrible to use him the way he did to try and win the fans over. He always tries to make moores out as some evil baddie too, when clearly hes not. Moores loves the club as much/if not more as any of us. His only "crime" is that hes not as rich as seems to be necessary now to run a team at the top end.

3 - I dont believe hes rich enough for it to be worthwhile. Yeah, hes richer than any of us here are ever gonna dream of being. And he can afford to buy a big stake. BUT after that, hes gonna be in the same boat as moores, not having the cash to throw around. So I dont really see the point.

Point 1 seems to have now been rectified, and point 2 I feel he has learnt his lesson a bit, he doesnt seem to whore himself round the media now to reach his goal but theres no getting away from point 3 IMO. It would solve a short term problem stadium funding wise but thats about it.

With regards to point 3. If we secured enough through Morgan and sponsorship to pay for the majority of the stadium then the future extra ticket revenue could go entirely for team building rather than paying off large loans.

Point 3 concerns me as well. He's simply not minted enough to bank roll the club. Unless he has some huge backers behind him I'm not sure why anyone would want Morgan to take control of the club.

agreed but rich men, have rich friends....We all know he is a Red, We know he is an astute businessman, I dont believe hewould be trying to purchase the club if others werent helping him. He knows his wealth isnt enough......or does his ego come above the future of liverpool, the club he supports??

He seems to shoot from the hip a little too much for my liking, and he's also fond of appearing in the media, again not something I would want to see in a Chairman or major stakeholder.

Last thing we need is somebody that panics in the board room.

Sadly I suspect it is option B.

Agreed. I guess it might have been his life dream..... Any liverpool fan with the ability to, would want to buy the club to run it.

I guess he thinks that he can find more money later on by running the business in another way. 60000 seats would help.

Lets for the sake of argument suggest i had that kind of money I would NOT buy into the club as i could not take it forward. Look to invest, yes - buy NO!

FTR if i did have that kinda money i would hardly be on here, would i?

So reading between the lines, noone knows where the money is to come from. How the hell has the club got away with that?
