Cheers Tom. I'll put it on the list.

To be honest, first place is currently occupied by the new Neil Young film but then you knew that already.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

      of course

The music if ****ing great though. They actually formed a proper band (Bang Bang) and played gigs for the live scenes.

Apparently it's excellent. Despite the fact that they printed the damn thing with the sound 4 frames out of sync

So don't complain to the cinema folks it's not their fault, it's just like that, that's the way it is!

I heard that yesterday along with Mark Kermode's Damascene conversion yesterday on 5Live.

          I've always liked Kermode.

Seems to be the most sensible take on it. If, as it seems, selling naming rights IS inevitable, then the crucial issue is to milk whoever buys them for as much cash as possible. Selling the name AND getting peanuts for it cannot be allowed to happen.

Would it not ? You just know some genius will start calling it "the SPA".

If we called it the Stanley Park, then that'd be our choice, not one brought about by any potential investors or sponsors. In which case, we'd receive no money for calling it that. If we aint getting cash for the name, we'll just stick to Anfield...surely?

I can't believe how many people 'dont mind' us selling the stadium name.

I can't think of anything worse, personally.

I for one hope it's not inevitable.

Think it's the better of two shyte options to be fair Jamo.

I dont want us to, but if the alternative is NEVER having the funds to seriously compete for the title, then i'll happy trot along to the 'Coca Cola Stadium' if necessary. Needs must, and all that.

Anyone who matters will still call it Anfield.

The fact that we will be able to get 60,000 every other week in the new stadium is the reason we are moving. More bums on seats, more cash, better players, more trophies. (In theory!).

We shouldn't need to sell the name of our stadium, the money for all these new players should be coming from the gate revenue, no ? Or am I missing something here ?

The fact that Arsenal sold their soul doesn't mean that we should.

I think it's less to do with money for new players and more to do with cash to build the fecker in the first place mate.

I could be wrong, but if the much talked about (but never materialising) talkover or investment had actually happened, i doubt the issue of selling the stadium name would even have cropped up.

It's all very messy and we're left in the dark, as per usual, as the Investment-Stadium-Parry/Moores saga continues, then.

To the best of my knowledge the stadium hasn't even been given the 100% go ahead, yet.

All I can say is, It will be a sad day if/when we walk into the 'Addidas Arena'

                            *sigh*

But a happy day if we're then witnessing Gerrard lifting the Premiership trophy in said arena?

It's hardly a guarantee though, is it ?

If there was a choice between 60m or naming the stadium 'Anfield', I'd snub the 60m.
