Even if we didn't sell the naming rights I wouldn't call it Anfield. In my eyes there is only one Anfield and I think people need to realise this will be a new era fot Liverpool Football Club.
I'm sure a large Multinational would like the association between "Anfield" and their product/brand. Therefore with Adidas pushing Nike as the dominant force in Football gear, I'd have expected them to want to associate Adidas with Anfield. Therefore I believe the Adidas Anfield Arena would be enticing for the Germans.
Have you heard something Michael? The whole fish thing was a bit Cantona for me
Sorry mate, I didn’t mean to confuse you there. I mealy saw that there was a headline from the fat man about stadium names, a discussion topic, and wondered if anybody knew anything about it.
The fishing reference was a subtle hint in that direction. He has put out the bait, to lure people in etc etc.

Agreed. However they might worry that the adidas might get dropped.......

If we call it the Addidas stadium, I think I'll cry.
Dont you sare sell our soul Parry.
It's all somewhat irrelevant as whatever they might officially name the stadium the fans will still call it Anfield, so I'm not bothered in the slightest. Let's take the money and remember that the naming rights are only temporary anyway - and the fans will ignore the name. There doesn't seem to be any downside.

I'd agree if we were moving to Speke or somewhere else miles away, but the new sight is but a cough and a spit from the current site, so Anfield it will remain.
We have to bite the bullet and accept that renaming the stadium to a brand, will really help with the financing of the club.
I think you might be right. Maybe some people like me should possibly finally enter the 21st century and just accept the inevitable. I suppose whatever its official title is, were all just gonna call it anfield anyway. We certainly need the cash. Just so long as they learnt there lesson when sticking that great big ****in hideous yellow M on the side of the kop
I was gonna say the same thing Redspin. It’s gonna be in virtually the same place. Our routes to the game will all remain unaltered. The match day (pre and post game) experience will intrinsically remain the same. We’ll drink in the same pub we always drank in.
I know a lot of City fans who still call their ground Maine Road, even though it’s miles away and a totally different vibe for them all going to the match.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
