A bit of fight obviously and should we have risked Gerrard for this?

I can never understand the need to rest a keeper though.

Why could we have not started with Pepe?

    Cavalieri is promised these matches.

And for your first question: I expected some guts and 11 men fighting for every single ball. I expected these players to show some pride for playing for Liverpool. I also expected some sort of football abilities - I was not expecting brilliant play, but I expected simple pass and move.

That's all I expected and I don't think it's too much to ask for. If a racing horse did his job so poor as most of our players did today, he would be killed.

Can anyone see Lucus replacing Alonso or gerrard in the long run as i can't. We need to start to bring the young local/english lads through.

Positives: Ryan Babel, El Zhar and Darby.

Negatives? Cannot be bothered as much of it will be knee-jerk, but we have a long long way to go if that is our best second string. And I thought we were good at defending.
              Please explain, mate.

On my TV, he ran straight at the defenders, used 10-15 seconds every time he had the ball, lost it, made some stupid free kicks and during 99 minutes he didn't contribute to one good pass that led us closer to the goal.

If you mean it's positive by his standards, I can agree with you. But from a player rapping about he's a Liverpool star?

They were frightened when he had the ball - always 2 or 3 players around him when he took possession.

When he got the ball it looked like something might happen - sure he was dispossessed frequently but he was wanting to be direct and drag us back in the game.

I agree about Babel. He had plenty of the ball but did nothing with it. He has no game intelligence, runs down blind alleys again and again and constantly makes the wrong decision. I'm starting to get very worried about him.

Rafa looked really narked on Sky.

Wouldn't blame him. The team he put out let him down. They should have done a lot better.

So he should, he bought the crap players

                            Dossena, Degen, Ngog -

Bring on Bolton thank good the majority will not get on the pitch

Shows how a good keeper inspires a defence Reina has nothing to worry about

Whatever about the merits of the team as individual players there is no excuse for the lack of effort and commitment they showed in the first half. I think that's what Rafa is really pissed about and rightly so.

I must admit I've never been one of his biggest fans as he's not my type of player.

When I see a player for the first time, the only thing I care about is his vision and first touch and I remember I was shocked when I saw Babel for the very first time.

He is still young and he's still making the same mistakes. I believe that when you're 21 years old, it's hard to learn a player the things he's missing. Your strength and pace is easy to improve, but vision and ball control?

I'm not writing him completely off, but for me it's more likely he will end up in France than become an Anfield legend.

And I've heard the story about adapting to the Premiership and how poor Henry was when he first came to Arsenal, so to all of you Babel lovers; Let's not go there..
