My favourite player and a class act. Lucas has a long way to go and will probably never be in Xabi's league, but he did hit one Xabi-esque pass that Degen wimped out of and it gave me hope that with a run of games and confidence he will be good.
Back to Xabi, he is class and we messed him around badly and I fear this will be him last year. His form was not the best at times and injuries went against him, but I feel he deserved to be treated better.

The moment Alonso came on the pitch you could see the class in him.After watching some really poor footballers for 70 odd mins,his superior abilty shone like a beacon.His touch,control,vision and passing is absolutely first class.We maybe don't apreciate sometimes how good this guy is but last night,in the small amount of time he was on the pitch,he was the best player on the park by a country mile.

I am so glad we kept him.He makes a huge difference.

No doubt that Xabi showed his class but I actually thought Lucas was pretty good last night as well. He was let down by the performances of the rest of the team, IMO.

However when Xabi came on and took control they did not click together as well as I would of liked (at least not straight away) and got in each others way too often.

We need to introduce players one by one into the 1st team and the best way to do that is by smashing the ****e opposition we play early and then bring players on with the team in full verve.
