FA must be taking the piss with this respect campaign when they employ clowns like this guy. How can they expect respect with idiots like him on the wage bill.

Nolan was making no attempt to do anything other than block Reina. Correct decision by the ref.
That said though it was pretty much the only decision he got right. He comes across as a nice guy in interviews but his refereeing is utterly inept. The PL need to have a look at this fella.
"My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.
If you are standing still before the ball is played, and somebody has to go around you, it isn't obstruction. You're just standing your ground. Would you really expect Nolan to say
'I'm sorry Pepe, I didn't realise you were trying to get past. Here you go old chap'.
It was far less innocuous than the umpteen times defenders shield the ball out of play during any game.

Well it depends if he stayed still without trying to play the ball. It contentious as the goalie is the only one who can handle so they move about more than a player there.
I guess that it will more likely go the goalies way than not.

Goalie's do generally get way to much protection.
Thing is though, we got away with it (the result that is), so I'm happy.
If that goal had counted, or if Gardner could finish, that could have ended up like another Tottenham game.
