    Poor Degen

Jinxed Liverpool star Philipp Degen has opened his heart on his injury hell - admitting he has never felt worse.

Swiss right-back Degen, a summer signing from Borussia Dortmund, has previously been sidelined with ligament, groin and lung injuries. He made his first-team comeback in the 4-2 Carling Cup defeat at Spurs on Wednesday, only to break a bone in his foot.

"This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me," said Degen, 25. "I simply burst into tears in the dressing-room. Tottenham's Gareth Bale made a bad challenge on me, and I did not even get a penalty.

"But the bone in my foot is torn apart, and I will be out another four to six weeks. It is the saddest event of my life - I keep asking myself if I did something wrong in a past life."

Poor guy injuries have ruined his start at liverpool. He got alot of **** after the cup game but it was his first start since coming back from injury. the guy deserves a chance imo when he is fully fit.

Feel genuinelly sorry for him, looked good pre-season and then hit by an injury.

      Wish him a speedy recovery

He looked decent going forward on Wed, but defensively and in terms of positional play he was atrocious. As for the bad challenge by Bale, I actually thought Bale got enough of the ball to justify the ref's decision not to give a pen.

It's unfortunate for the lad, and I have no doubts that his poor injury record has taken its psychological toll to the extent that we saw him pulling out of challenges on Wednesday, but if he is going to play half-heartedly then he may as well not bother playing at all.

Agree with the first sentence there, but I think the last bit is harsh.

He won't be ready for the first team until he is fully fit, and then he could do with a run in the reserves to get him into the swing of things.
            Oh I don't know.

He is no loss to us really. If he left in January it would be no big deal. He seems like a bit of a spice boy and I would give Darby a chance personally. Our scout in Germany is recommending some odd players for us.

                          Sehr gut.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I think his Liverpool career started on the wrong metatarsal.
