Someone is going to get a real shoeing...

Is it me, or have we been threatening to dish out an absolute hammering in our last few league games without actually achieving it? Spurs, West Brom and Bolton should all have been given an absolute tonking, especially Bolton - by my reckoning, we had seven absolutely nailed-on chances and only took two.

Perhaps Fulham are going to be on the end of it, with Torres back and likely to start up front with Keane. All I know is that our results haven't matched our dominance, and while Chelsea are scoring for fun, we aren't. A couple of five or six goal wins could put a real dent in their goal difference advantage, too.

On the plus side, we've been playing some of the best football I've seen us play in a long while, and I'll hold my hands up and say that I was wrong in thinking that Barry would be better for us than Alonso - Xabi has been absolutely brilliant so far this season.

I reckon we might be more likely to hand out a spanking away from home...the onus on the home team to attack plays into our hands.

had this feling for a while and hope your right. just convert the chances that we are making and we are creating a lot at the minute

Totally agree. The nature of the way other teams play when they come to Anfield makes it less likely that we'd net 5 or more goals in such a game. Away from home, however, teams are less likely to play with everyone behind the ball and that's when we can carve them open at will. Eg, Bolton.

Roll on Blackburn then. They're ripe for a spanking.

Once Nando is back, Gerrard is 100% and Keane gets into top gear, more than one team will get a ‘shoeing’!
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Also have Arsenal coming up, if they play like they do last week we could really tank them.

Some of the movement & passing in recent Prem games reminded me of Valencia under Raffa, rember when we played them & we couldn't get the ball off them, not getting carried away but bodes well

I feel it too. We are def getting stronger and its just a matter of time. I think it will come at anfield. Hull play quite an open game so come Dec 13th i think if we have a full team we might well bring them down to earth with a big big win

Yeah completely agree, did you see Xabi spraying the ball around the park like the good old days at the Rebok .. even my Manc mate was in awe .. Keane looking increasingly in the mood, Kuyt on top form, Reira looking classy down the left, its all there right now and thats why were are in the position we are in

I really don't see us spanking anyone at the minute. We lack the killer instinct. Hopefully if we continue our current form we will be able to start developing it but I really don't think that in the games mentioned we have cut teams apart as comprehensively as is made out. The number of really good chances has been relatively low and at present none of our forwards could reasonable be described as on fire (or more reasonable in good form in front of goal).

We have been controlling games better of late but teams are yet to start fearing us in the way they do United and Chelsea. I think a big part of their big wins has been that teams feel once they are a goal down the game is over. Teams don't, yet, feel that against us.

Its always nice when we put lots past a few teams, but its not a necessity. We had that run of something like 18 goals in 3 games last season and promptly went on to lose and draw subsequent games. We can win every game from now till the end of the season 1-0 for all I care. as long as we win them
