We've been doing well without him and will Rafa be tempted to go back to 4-4-2, or play keane wide as part of the forward 3.

Or will he drop one of alonso/masher to accommodate gerrard in midfield.

I think he’s talking more about formation. Either drop Keane and persevere with the same formation, or play them both and revert back to a 442.

Personally, I can see Rafa continuing to do what he has all season, 442 (when both fit) for the lesser teams, 4411 against stiffer opposition.

Torres will start every match when fully fit. The rest of the team will change formation and personel depending on oppostion and who is fit. I'd think that Mascherano and Keane will interchange depending on who we're playing in changing from 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1. But what will stay the same whether there is 2 up top or 1 with support is Riera and Dirky out on the touch lines.

Personally, i think the good of the team comes above any individual player and therefore, i'd drop Keane and go 4231.
