keane wasn't on the market we made an offer the club couldn't refuse. no wonder, no one else anywhere in the world would have paid 20 million on robbie keane.

Robbie Keane was not responsible for his transfer fee. Liverpool paid it - end of.

Last year it was Kuyt getting the grief - now it's Keane.

I wouldn't be surprised if the new Keane song is "You're **** and you know you are"

The booing of Lucas and the slagging off of Dossena is really going to improve their confidence.

Obviously, the word "supporters" has lost it's original meaning.

It was pointed out to me in the pub watching the game last night how much Riera has been coming inside of late and it is true. When he started he kept to his wing and gave us an outlet all the time and stretched the opposition - too often of late he has been the cause of the narrowing or our play.

I think we should be at the point where we do have players of Keane's quality on the bench. There are some games where we should be able to play a Gerrard - Alonso or Gerrard - Mascherano central partnership to allow Torres and Keane up front. A position in the team should be earned by performances.

I really think we need to give Babel more sub appearances as Benayoun is never going to push Riera for a starting place and at the minute without competition his performances are getting worse.

Cannot argue with any of that. Riera started really well but has faded somewhat- he needs to be kept on his toes with the option of Babel coming on for him- the funny thing is he seems to fade out of games rather like Babel does when he starts.

Babel was desperately in need of a pre-season but got that injury. He's had time to train up again now, but really needs to step up to the mark. His season has been disappointing to say the least.
              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

just as simple as that eh? Nothing to do with the fact that it was Keane's life long ambition to play for Liverpool? If Villa felt the same way as Keane did about joining us you may have had a point, but even then we'd have still had to come up with hell of a lot more money than we'd paid for Keane - the way things are at the club at the moment, its money I don't think we had.

So it didnt matter that Villa kept saying he didnt want to leave Spain?

once we're publicly in for a player its always their lifelong ambition to play for us.

i'm just watching anelka on the tv - he loved liverpool, would have been cheaper than keane and a much better option.

the success of robbie keane and rafa maintaining his job are very very much linked imo.

So the pictures of him when he was a kid in a Liverpool shirt were photo shopped?

I`d love to see Anelka at Anfield but don`t you remember that he couldn`t score for Chavs for few good months? Only recently he found his scoring boots again. It only shows that sometimes people need time to adjust and simply being class player ( as I believe Keane and Anelka are) is not enough to justify price that had been paid and to fulfill expectations straight away.

What I always loved about english football and what set England apart from rest of continent ( not mentioning La Manche Canal ) was patience and understanding coming from Average Joe that in football you need time to settle, to gel, to get use to new circumstances. Sadly this virtue seems to be long forgotten and too many people want result here and now.

PS: I know it`s English Channel according to you
