I don`t believe you have TBH

I think you`ve been raging ( pun intended ) since day when it became obvious we won`t be champions in 1991 .

Anyway it is up to everybody to have his own opinion. I`m delighted with our start and just hope we can continue this way. Of course we are very ordinary at times but we won`t win our first title playing like Red Brasil. We have to grind results and defy many so called experts on the way to elusive number 19. As fans all we can do is to believe and to support even if sometimes it is difficult to stomach result like that one last saturday.

Questioning every player who didn`t have excellent 90 minutes onthe pitch won`t help.

But this started off by talking about signing Keane over Villa, and seems to have got lost in arguing whether someone is a Liverpool fan or not. The fact is Villa didn't want to leave Spain, Valencia didn't want to sign him, and He would have cost closer to £30m. Was never going to happen when you combined those three facts.
Spurs didn't want to sell Keane, but he made it clear that he was desperate to sign for us. I won't disagree with you that £20m was a hell of a lot of money - a price he hasn't really lived up to yet. But he deserves time, not because he is/was a Liverpool fan - but because he has only been here 4 months or so, playing with completely different players (he has made 7 league starts with Torres - not enough to expect a good partnership imo).
I won't deny I have been disappointed in him so far, but I'm more than willing to get behind him and give him more time. Surely that is what all supporters should be doing, because no one WANTS him to fail, do they?
Anyway I think you were starting to get away from the point by starting to argue the merits of whether a player was a liverpool fan or not.

well put although I'm sure Rage will manage to come back with something that has no relevance to any of your points.

Torres injured. Keane on the bench. (obvious to get a start now)

          Anyone for Babel upfront?

the discussion was about whether or not we should have saved the keane transfer fee to try and get Villa, NOT the fact that Robbie Keane being a boyhood fan should mean he deserves more support. The only reason Keanes's LFC's affection was brought up was in relation to it being easier to attract a player when he actualy would welcome the move.

I'd have thought we should cut Keane a bit of slack not because he's a Liverpool fan but because he's a Liverpool player and we are Liverpool fans.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I sometimes think that Liverpool fans are set on self-destruct. Things are going well, joint top both in the League and CL-group but still fans are endlessly moaning and Carragher has to come out to ask people to stop the booing.

I am not 100% satisfied with the performance of some players but I am delighted with the way the team is playing. I think Keane does have huge influence on other teams, for example, how do you set up your defence against Torres and Gerrard, some would just keep it tight and close shop. But now we have Riera to stretch play and Keane to play in tight spaces, it looks good on paper, and I think it's working on some levels and it won't be long until he Keane scores regularly.
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

i wasn't arguing. this thread is about keane's value, so tell me do you think he's worth 20 million. because in case you'd missed my point - i don't!!

The thread is about Keanes Valuation, however - you created a discussion as to whether or not we should have used Keanes transfer fee to go for Villa under the premise that like Keane, every player is available if you offer enough money.

Whether Keane is worth 20 million isn't relevent to the points you tried to make. Its just a transparent attempt at saving face by deflecting back to the original topic when you were losing this particular argument.

For what its worth, I don't think Keane is worth 20 million. I also don't know the full picture as to why we paid so much for him, I'm sure it wasn't just out of charity.

Lol who did say that in this thread?

If Villa felt the same way as Keane did about joining us you may have had a point, but even then we'd have still had to come up with hell of a lot more money than we'd paid for Keane - the way things are at the club at the moment, its money I don't think we had.

of course its relevant. since when were we rich enough not to have 20 million as irrelevant?

now i'll ask you again, in your opinion is keane worth 20 million?

infact forget answering it, i'll write what you're scared of admitting. to date robbie keane has been our most expensive failure.
