I don't want to have a go at Keane. I thought he'd be a good signing for us (but not at that price). However, I just don't get it. I know Torres is injured, but why when he is injured does Keane get moved up front? Why not bring in a like for like replacement for Torres and keep the formation/roles/positions the same. At least you can get settled. But moving players about isn't going to help them settle at a new club.
I do feel a little for the guy but at the end of the day, £20m is a lot of money and I can't see us getting anywhere near that back

We wouldn't get half of it back. He's here to stay and Rafa has to play him because of the outlay. Said it before but given out financial situation and the feeling that the owners aren't 100% trusting of him anyway, I think that, to a large degree, the form of Keane will make or break Rafa's time in charge.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostI don't want to have a go at Keane. Definitely not unfortunately, if we do sell it'll be because he's failed add to that he'll be what 29? If we do sell then its not a great bargaining position.Originally posted by Sarb24 View Post

Think the only chance of us getting a decent fee would be Spurs needing a "messiah" to get them out of the relegation scrap but I doubt we'd give up on him in January.

You mean apart from the four goals he scored against us for Spurs?

Suppose United should cut there losses with Berbatov as well then?Originally posted by rage View Postso keane scored a few goals in a mid table team. that doesn't demonstrate his class. most teams attacked against spurs and where else was he coventry?
teams defend against liverpool and keane looks out of his depth. sell him! sell him now. he'll never be good enough

don't care about utd, but if i did i think they've got to many similar strikers in tevez and rooney; and in berbatov a player that doesn't fit in with their system. they can buy all the sweets in the sweet shops we can't afford to do the same.Originally posted by Woobus View PostSuppose United should cut there losses with Berbatov as well then?
i actually think berbatov is RVN replacement but RVN was better in the lazy goal hanging role

Four goals in how many games? 2 goals were in one game last season no? When our defending was particularly ****.Originally posted by Hollowman View PostYou mean apart from the four goals he scored against us for Spurs?
My point actually was when we were about to face spurs, did the prospect of facing Robbie Keane fill you with fear?

Berbatov may not have scored as many goals as would be desired, but he's contributing in his play and assists also. Quite frankly he's a much better player than KeaneOriginally posted by Woobus View PostSuppose United should cut there losses with Berbatov as well then?
We'd have been better off buying a player in the Arshavin mould
