Do you think LFC would be top of the league without Sammy Lee?

There seems to be a buzz around Melwood. Apparently Sammy has transformed the psyche?

Rafa is the master tactician but Sammy Lee is probably better at man-management. They make a good team.
    Another MASSIVE game

On the LFC channel just now. Sammy has populated the place with Liverpool memorabilia and archives from the "impeccable" era - in order to instil a never say die attitude. Good on yer Sammy, it's a pity Dossena can't read English just yet!!

              More like never say diet.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I wish he was fluent in football!

He must have learned quickly, last time I saw him being interviewed he had an interpreter.

To be fair Capello did that when he took over as England manager despite his good english. It is as far as I'm concerned a sensible thing to do early on to prevent misinterpretation (obviously the combination of individual confidence in your linguistic ability and the profile of your role will affect how willing you are to talk without one).

It does seem reasonable to believe that even if he has strong English he may well not be fluent and may still find aspects of everyday language, the pace of talking eyc difficult to deal with. I know plenty of people in the academic profession that I work in suffer from these problems initially. There is a danger that people think just because someone can speak English to decent level that they will have no problems. Equally I remember the rumours from both side re: Sissoko's level of English. Sometimes you just have to accept that we really don't know enough to judge and wait and see how things turn out.

When Pako left there was alot said about how he had been the 'foil' for Rafa's austere and clinical management style, and it was notable how our results slid a little at the time.

I'd say that a bubbly, approachable Sammy Lee about the place is doing us no harm at all, although it's hard to quantify his impact for certain. Top of the league for all intents and purposes is good enough for me right now though.
