Are WE the biggest club in the world?

Ok, so the obvious answer to many would be no - many will even say does it really matter. Well it does to me - I am sick of the self proclaimed biggest club Man Utd who have been banging that drum for so long now everyone just accepts it as fact.

Difficult to win that argument I agree, but in terms of sheer numbers of supporters I have always felt we must be the biggest club in the world.

After all we are the most successful club in British football. Our away support is always second to none, in England and abroad. Our website has the most hits and we are always the most prominent team on sports shopping websites like Kitbag. We are absolutely massive in the far east and middle east.

So whilst we might not officlally be the biggest are we the unofficial number 1 team in world football? Surely yes!!!!

    Yes we are!

Most of our supporters from the fine 70's and 80's are still alive, and their children are mostly LFC supporters, at least that's how it is where I come from.

When TV3 here in Norway had a vote a couple of years ago whether to broadcast LFC or Scum live from champions league as the matches was at the same time, we won by a landslide.

Unfortunatley i think the Mancs are the biggest, they've got supporters in every orofice in the world, i was talking to someone who said they are becoming huge in india including the little villages due to coverage of the Premier League on ESPN in India, wtf? add to that the far east, Africa (especially Soth Africa), Scandinavia, London etc etc

Whats really helped their cause is that their success has coincided with the Premier League going global, its much easier for someone with no afinity to support a succesful club (glory hunt).

In my opinion LFC has some of the more die hard fans.
            We come not to play.

According to Kicker Magazine (German Football Mag), when Liverpool won the Champs League in 2005, we had an estimated 18M fans world wide, followed by Manure and Real Madrid on approx 15M each. Chelsea and Arsenal put together don't have 10M.

Foreign fans are fickle. Now Utd are champions they will have more.

I hate to admit it but I don't think we're the biggest club in England anymore let alone the world.
If we did/do have 18 million fans worldwide after 2005 as Van Halen mentions above why was the club sold so cheaply and why do we make so little from marketing and if we're that big as a globel brand why the **** hasn't anyone come in to buy us if we're this vast source of untapped potential revenue.
The ****ing Mancs have won ****loads since we last won the league, all this in an age when technology means you can reach a bigger audience worldwide.
                    We are light years behind.

Man Utd have more fans than us worldwide, that's just how it is.

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world.

I don't think any one club can claim to be the biggest, there are a group of clubs that are up there, including ourselves, the mancs, milan by 2, barca, real, Celtic (apparantly Nike sell more Celtic jersey's in the US than anyone else's!)

I think Utd's claim is pretty pathetic as self praise is no praise and i don't think we should go down that road.
