    Exclusive interview with Phil Thompson

*We rely on the forums of the best LFC sites on the Net (with their prior permission) to promote our articles.*

Hi all, we have published the second part of Thommo's interview:

Phil Thompson spent 25 years at the Reds as player, captain, reserve team trainer, assistant manager and acting manager.

Various topics were discussed at length so his interview was split into two parts.

The first part published last week concentrated on his playing days: http://www.lfchistory.net/redcorner_...rticle_id=2245

In the second part of his interview Phil talks about his time as manager and coach, the players that got away, how close his mentor, Ronnie Moran, was to become manager of Liverpool on full-time basis, the tooth incident and the enigma that is Nicolas Anelka.

    Previous interviews:
    - Ian Callaghan http://www.lfchistory.net/redcorner_...rticle_id=2244
    - Gerry Byrne http://www.lfchistory.net/redcorner_...rticle_id=2213

Found the second interview really interesting. A real inside perspective on what was happening at the club before Rafa joined.
    Oh I don't know.

Excellent article, I wonder what would have happened IF:

Ronnie Moran had taken over instead of Souness?
We'd bought Terry, Shearer and/or Ronaldo?
            We come not to play.

Leave him be. You don't know how proud of himself he was for making a sticky thread. He said so in the Mod lounge

Fine, let him play with his cyber post-it notes.

Great interview though, just think of the team we could have had

Interesting read, and I miss Thomo on the bench. He always had a temper that if nothing else in a match got a smile on my face

Good interview that, some very interesting points made. imagine a Carra/Terry partnership christ you wouldn't want to be a striker playing against them too.

Carragher would have been at a different club by now if Terry had come. With Sami and Terry at center back he wouldn't have got a chance at centre back. And I think I'd be right in saying that Rafa would have wanted more attacking full backs with ability on the ball.

And Carra wouldn't have accepted being on the bench. I could be wrong as Rafa may have spotted the potential in him to become an LFC legend. Guess we'll never know.

Terry and Carra would have been class though.
