Reports in Italy yesterday claimed Mascherano’s agent has told Lazio that the player would be open to a move to the Serie A outfit in January.

However, Mascherano has dismissed the suggestion by underlining his determination to win silverware at Anfield.

“I just want to play for Liverpool and try to do as well as possible,” he said.

Maradona does seem to love Mascher, the only man guaranteed to be on the team sheet. Bad news for us but great for the Monster and he really does deserve it.

Lazio are ready to move for Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano during the January transfer window.

The Rome-based club, who are in the Champions League, need more midfield strength and have targeted the new Argentina captain.

Italian sources claim Walter Tamer, Macherano's agent, has been sounded out about a possible move for Mascherano. Tamer has said that the midfielder could move to Italy later this season.

Macherano has not been a regular starter for Liverpool this season, manager Rafa Benitez preferring a central midfield partnership of Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso.

The Argentinian has been frustrated by his lack of playing time which Lazio hope to capitalise on.

          That's a f**king good one!!

The simple answer? It's because for the first time in years, they are looking at the table and are scared. Simple as. We should take all this as a massive backhanded complement.

                      It's an outrage!

I remember them doing one on Torres in the summer, something along the lines of "It's known he's growing unhappy on Merseyside and if Chelsea can agree a fee with Liverpool he'll be happy to move to London" or some such ****e. Incredible.

The Mail's greater focus on us at the moment is undoubtedly due to our high league position but I don't think an anti-LFC conspiracy is at all credible. The media certainly has an agenda but it's to do with their own need for news, especially in the days of 24-hour news, online publishing, etc., rather than bias against Liverpool.

We are certainly higher profile at the moment so the media have a greater interest in 'printing' stories about us. Stories like "Skrtel is happy at Liverpool" and "Mascherano doesn't want to leave Liverpool" are not really stories at all, unless they are in response to the kind of stories we have been getting.

So we don't need to invoke the idea of an anti-LFC plot in order to explain these negative (and patently stupid) stories about disharmony and unhappiness in the club. To do otherwise, without at least stronger proof than merely the existence of the stories, is, IMO, naive and merely sounds like bleating.

As for the Mail, I suggest we all stop paying it any attention whatsoever. It's a filthy newspaper.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
