Lucas was pretty poor again today, he just doesn't dominate a midfield at all. I thought he improved a little later on, and that it can't have helped the lad having audible moans around Anfield every time he did something wrong, but he really didn't step up to the plate today.

Keane is just starting to concern me really. Body language doesn't look right.

The only positive is that I thought Arbeloa did a very willing job down the right today, and overall it could have been worse, sure we missed an opportunity to take a 2 point lead, but so did Chelsea.

Crikey, our passing today was woeful. Very poor from Keane, Lucas, Kuyt and Babel when he came on. We were off today but have we really played good flowing football yet this season? At least Torres tries, but chose to take men on when he could have passed. Keane needs to sort out his passing, too many misplaced balls today. Why doesn't he get stuck in around the box. Failed to anticipate a few flicks from Torres and missed that sitter. Don't know what to say about Lucas. I didnt rate him before the game and was hoping to be proven wrong but he was ****e today. He offers no creativity going forward, makes the odd tackle and what is with him sauntering round the pitch as if he owns the ****in place. Needs to get some urgency in his game because he is not good enough right now. This was an opportunity for him to step up today and he failed dismally.

Gerrard and Torres just click when they play together as they proved last week against Bolton when Torres replaced Keane.
Agreed, 100%. Gerrard playing behind Torres was the key to our success last season.

Keane's decision making is extremely poor, after watching him for several weeks I am coming to the conclusion that he is not an intelligent enough player for a top 4 club.

I know, I know! Sorry about that display. I should be dropped for the next game and be given a severe kick up the arse!

I know this is a match thread, but just wondering if Scolari got it wrong today as well?

I think Keane has relied a lot on luck in the past. And he is not getting any of it this season.

                senses sarcasm

Didn't see the game myself, but not according to Nicey "Chelsea had 26 shots on goal 14 on target and at least 1 good goal disallowed .. how they did not win that game is a miracle .."

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Arebeloa again possibly man of the match ...Bollix too Lucas being molly collied by all in sundry .. I've given him a lot of time but we dont have time for him to find his ****ing feet in his 2nd season .. you dont get many chances like that at a club like liverpool .. you have to take them .. he did play maginially better in the 2nd half .. but he still looked bereft of ideas on the ball .. where as Xabi does not even need to look up he instinctively playes the ball into spaces he knows someone will be arriving at ...Lucas needs to buck up his ideas or he will not cut it here ... thank **** our defence looked solid... the problem today was mid fielfd .. and basically Masher and Lucas .. IT DID NOT WORK IN THE SLIGHTEST ..

Thing is, Keane is an intelligent player Dhav, he's just not using it for us. Nothing he does in our system currently looks natural, he looks tense and is snatching at balls, and not taking chances to have a hit when he's got a sight from outside the box. It all looks forced to me.

We're a different team with Alonso in it, especially our wingers as the ball gets spread to them in space and accurately. I can see in theory why Rafa started Lucas today but in hindsight it was a big mistake, it compressed our play and left Riera and Kuyt with far too much to do when they got possession, doing them no favours at all.

If that's the case, then it's quite a contrast to the inept performance we put up today.

The difference Alonso is making this season is clear for everyone to see. Lucas starting alongside Mascherano is our weakest starting midfield pair - a huge lack of creativity in the middle of the park made it an easy
                          day for the fulham defence.

Absolutely, needs to work on his crossing but he was very lively and provided real consistent support down that side.

That was one of the worse liverpool performances in recent years .. utterly brutal .. simple things done wrong .. Lucas had for the most part one of the worse performances in the Red shirt since Salif Diao ... every pass short or worse behind the ****ing player .. looked uncomfortable on the ball and basically did absolutely nothing with it most times..

The only saving grace is Chelsea slipping up but I would be spitting blood if I was Rafa.. 2 points dropped and the potential lead in a very tight Title race
