If i had said that Portsmouth were better than us, or Villa or someone, then fair enough. But to suggest that we're still not quite there, when it comes to overtaking Chelsea is not exactly radical or controversial is it? Think you're being a little harsh about it. We might well do it this season and please god let us win the title, but until we've actually proved we're the best side, why is it unreasonable to suggest that Chelsea are slightly better than us?

While i agree with that sentiment .....the reality is somewhat different.

Stoke the same +2pts
Fulham + 2pts

so you are saying we should definitely have 40 pts out of 42?

no the reality is we were lucky in those few games alonso got players sent off, lucky in a couple of other games when we played **** and won.

I'd just like to see a few more positive posts, rightly or wrongly. Your entitled to your opinion but we are 2nd on GD and the dream is still on.

Look, everyone wants us to win the league, I think we can agree with that. And for the first season in ages we actually look like we might have an outside chance of doing so. But with that comes tension, every point really is vital, so when we drop points anywhere there will be a natural inclination for fans to be frustrated. We could do with remembering at times that we're all on the same side and share the same passion, people just react differently to things in life.

For what its worth, personally I think overall we've probably got about the maximum amount of points we could reasonably expect to have given the overall quality of our squad, and that if we are genuinely good enough to win this league we have to be good enough to respond to blips. We're outsiders for this title, but if we're still in it come new year we will have a real chance, we've tended to play better in the second halves of season's under Benitez, and that's all any of us can really ask for.

We have been here before (many times) and although I was pissed at not getting a winner on Saturday I am still very hopefull of what we can achieve this season. You always get your end up after a loss and seem to find it hard to get over, often, if not always going on and on about it. It's a long season and we aren't going to win every game, get used to it.

You should focus on celebrating our wins longer and you might miss our draws.

We are entering a critical stage of the season. We need Torres and Gerrard to fire and IMO they will. Problem we have is we need them to stay fit also otherwise it gets tough. Losing Reina would possibly be as bad, so highly do I rate him.

that's a great motivator, confidence builder and rocket up the arse for the rest of the season isnt it.
