Bollock "Title race is between Chavs and Manure"

Michael Ballack insists that the Premier League title race remains a two-horse race between Chelsea and Manchester United.

The German has played down Liverpool's chances of challenging for the title, which they have not won in 18 years.

All three clubs were held to goalless draws at the weekend, which means Chelsea remain eight points ahead of United, but only goal-difference separates them and Liverpool.

However, Ballack does not see a threat from Liverpool or Arsenal.

"It's always the big four that everyone speaks about, but I think it's still about Chelsea and Man United," he told The Sun.

"Arsenal are already behind which makes it very difficult for them.

"Liverpool are very good at this moment but for me they are always a club for the Champions League, partly because they can put all their focus on one or two matches.

"But when you look at results and squads over the past couple of seasons as a whole, I think us and Man U are just a little bit stronger."

This is exactly waht we want people to think. We have enough pressure on us at the moment without people talking us up for the title.

Exactly. I really hope Ballack and everyone at Chelsea genuinely believes that we're not a threat.

He has obviously forgotten what happened at Stamford Bridge just a few weeks ago. :whatever:

Oh well, write us off at your peril.

You know,i don't mind people thinking like this, and to be fair,we have had so many false dawns over the years,he's right to have that opinion.

Lets just keep on winning the next game, and come march/april,lets see where we are.

I rather we're written off as such, as soon as we are labled title contenders we fall at the wayside.
              We come not to play.

I agree with this. He does not really have a pop at us and considering how we have started well and then faded in previous years, he has every right to hold that opinion. It's up to us now to prove him wrong!

Didn't Moaninho and half the Chelsea squad run to the papers in 2005 claiming there's no way we'd win the CL after beating Chelsea in the semi's?

yup, lets go quietly about our business and let our results do the talking.

I think you could apply that thinking to 99% of what comes out of footballers' gobs.

Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard has predicted Chelsea will win the title at a canter this season.

Bullard was magnificent in the Cottagers' 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday and has now ruled out the Reds as title challengers.

"Who do I think will win the league? Chelsea, and I think they'll do it comfortably this year," said Bullard in the Daily Telegraph.

"Liverpool do have an outstanding squad of individuals, it's awesome. But sometimes it's not about individual players, it's about the team.

"They're still up at the top and a very organised side. They made it hard to play but we were exceptional and it might have looked a tad easier than usual because of that."
