Is it really worth it?

Football does my nut in, not so much because on the field but off it. When we win a game there's always going to be praise from certain parts of the media but with that some ****e about us playing a poor team, Robbie Keane's missed chances, Gerrard coming to our rescue once again and so on. Then if you have a conversation with your mate who supports United or Arsenal they can't be honest about our form or even give us a hint of credit.
In the media and between fans there's so much bitterness in football these days, no matter what team achieves something major there's always a few assholes trying to bring them down.
It's only this season i'm starting to notice it though. It makes following your team and football in general less enjoyable, for me anyway.

Really need the rivalry in football, sometimes you get dogs abuse other times you can hand it out. Would probably enjoy football more if it wasnt for football forums, they are so full of crap but then for some reason I cant stop logging in to read the crap.

You're probably right. It certainly breeds a lot of the bitterness IMO, particularly between fans of the same team as is often evident on here.
