    Babel reiterates frustrations

Babel having a whinge again - you made your point a few weeks ago, now shut it & concentrate on getting back into the team....

Ryan Babel has reiterated his desire for increased first-team opportunities at Liverpool but insists he is not going to quit Anfield.

The Dutch winger has found it difficult to force a place in Rafa Benitez's starting XI this season as the Reds mount a Premier League title challenge.

Benitez has rotated his squad less than in the previous campaigns, meaning fringe players such as Babel have not been handed as many starts.

And the 21-year-old, who has previously voiced his frustrations at a place among the substitutes, admits he is disappointed he has not had a regular chance to impress from kick-off.

"The rotation system is a thing of the past and I'm one of the victims of that," Babel told Sportweek.

"The team is winning a lot, so you don't alter things just like that.

"Each season has about 60 games. 'I must work hard and wait for my chance,' is what you hear, but I've shown enough patience. I want to play.

"You get better and develop when you play. On the bench, nothing happens. Of course I'm disappointed when I don't play, that seems clear to me."

However, Babel - who has forged a 'super-sub' reputation following a series of match-winning performances from the bench - is not set to seek a Merseyside exit.

"I don't want to go," he said. "My contract runs until 2012. I don't give up that easily."
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

i actually think babel is being frozen out the way rafa tried with crouch and then alonso. only difference is that babel is expressing his unhappiness in public.

he's not been given a run of games to find form the way keane or kuyt has and i think the lads frustrated. as ever different sets of standards for different folk.

I think that Babel has done very little when given a start to create the impression he should be playing more. He looks like what he was when he got here an impact player.

I think he could have been used more often from the bench though.

It would be interesting to see whether he was really putting in the effort in training.

i agree - although as you see we have no idea what goes on behind the closed doors and on the training ground etc - but Babel has noone other than himself to blame if he isn't playing as much he would like - at the end of the day, if he performed well when he was started/came on as sub then he would play every week - for me too many times he has played and he looks like his head is in the clouds, poor touch, poor decision making and just no real impact on the game - granted there is flashes of brilliance every know and then but if anything that makes it more frustrating.........sometimes he just looks so gormless and needs a a bit of wake up call, he hasn't been consistent enough to warrant having a moan

Is there a recording of him saying these things to Sky? If not then it's very likely this is just the reheating of the interview the other day. "Babel unhappy at Anfield" is now a story and the media are able to use it as and when to fill space. The demands of 24-hour news, etc...

                  F*ck the media.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yes but Alonso and Kuyt didn't impress last 2 years and they still are coming great.
Babel scored the most important goal of the season up to now and he had a great assist vs Standard Liege.

I disagree with that statement about both Kuyt and Alonso. I admit last year Kuyt was poor in terms of goalscoring but no matter what everyone else says he put in a lot otherwise in the league, he also scored at 1 in 2 in the CL and had a decent first season behind him. Xabi was poor last season (although he was frequently injured in his defense) but IMO decent the season before and had a history of strong performances.

Babel on the other hand has a history of being a useful sub player who shines on occasion. When he has started this year he has looked off the pace and failed to last a match, which is why he isn't starting. When he has come on as a sub he has often added something but not more one of acts of brilliance than sustained quality play.

I would. She stinks something rotten. If you watched Big Brother you'll know what I'm talking about. Can't stand women that let rip, and certainly not ones that stink the place up. :-(

I agree nothing wrong with hearing a player wants to play, my only problem would be its been twice in such a short space of time. Well that is if he did say it again.
