Possibly Mascherano's worst display for us. Must've given the ball away nine times out of ten. Abysmal Masher....must improve.

Woeful team performance in the 2nd half. Slightly concerning and we need a comprehensive win on Monday to regain some momentum.

to be fair, Marseille played some nice football at times but lacked any real penetration so our defence never looked uncomfortable. It would have been nice to see us push on and try and get the 2nd goal but a win is a win.

I've said for quite a while, he's a great defensive midfielder but he's not the best passer of the ball. Of late his 'tacking' has been shocking as well. Got skinned by Zamora on the weekend too. Ain't at the races to be honest

Mascherano and Alonso just havent been at the match in the second half.

Everytime we got the ball at the back we just booted up field to Torres & Gerrard, bypassing midfield.

Really lost it in midfield and couldnt keep control of it in the final third. I know some will disagree but really missed Keanes intelligent play and ball retention up front tonight. As soon as we got near there goal we lost the ball and they were on the attack again.

1st of December I remember being at Bolton at home last season 2nd Dec i think, we won 4-0
