    Babel and Rafa

I think that something is not ok between these 2. I rate Babel the 3rd best offensive palyer in the team after Torres and Gerrard (and in some aspects he is better than Gerrard) and still we rarely get a glimpse of him. When he plays, (10 mins. out of 3 games available) we criticize him: 'he should have played better, he should have scored, he should do that blah blah blah...'but let's face it, he is not being given any opportunity to play which is unfair. Imo his talent is much better than Riera and he has also a better eye for goal.

I know that some will respond me: shut up you are not Rafa, shut up we are first in the league.... but every sane supporter wish to see Babel playing in the first 11 or playing 30 minutes every game especially now that El Nino is injured.!!!

Think we will see him more and more as the season goes on. The problem is he hasnt done enough this season when he has been given the chance but would like to see him get a run of games up front with Torres out.

babel has talent, theres no question about that, but that's what is most frustrating at times, when he is given the oppurtunity, he seems like he's not interested to play, he makes all the wrong decisions during games. the lad has it all, pace, tehnique, strenght, but his head seems to be somewhere else, not just football.

and on the riera comparison, well lets just say that riera has better tehnique than babel, and has shown that on a much more consistent level so far!

Look, he gets his chances to play and he does not play well enough, that is why he is not starting games.
It is not as if he just gets 20 or 30 mins to prove himself here and there or "Match Time" Week in week out he gets all the chance he needs on the training pitch to show rafa enough to warrant a starting place on the team. He may have a chip on his shoulder about where he is asked to play? who knows.
He is still very young, has lots of tallent, But for me he just needs to work that little bit harder when he does play because as we all know, He could be A top top player.

On a side note, If i was Rafa I would hire a JCB, go to his house and knock down that f**king recording studio, He is either going to be a good footballer or a ****e Rapper!

          Talent - good

Decision making - not so good

Form so far this season - not good enough
          Oh I don't know.

babel doesn't work hard enough for rafa thats why he's not playing.

he clearly needs a run of games yet the support rafa has given keane, kuyt and even lucas is not replicated with babel.

i hope like alonso before him babel gets his chance and proves rafa wrong because in babel i see something that our team lacks in attack.

I got to disagree with the thread starter, I'm afraid.

I don't think there's nothing wrong in the relationship between Babel and Rafa and I rate both Torres, Gerrard, Riera, Keane and Kuyt over Babel.

He's quick yes, but his decision making is awful. His technique can't be that great since he lose possesion over and over again from things like a bad first touch or/and a bad pass.

This guy needs to get things going and it frightens me to see that it doesn't look like he's even capable of playing full 90mins yet - despite the fact that he has been here for 14 months or so.

I would like to know if he's putting in some extra training or if he's only rapping about being Liverpools star!

Might be a bit hars for some people, but to be honest I can't see him make it, and I've said this since the first time I saw him.

Hopefully he can prove me wrong, but at this time I honestly don't want to see him anywhere near the starting line-up.

Any chance that Babel's decision to play the Olympics has irked Rafa a little?

                  Good player with wrong mentality.

To many players can be great players but waste their talent because they don't want to work hard enough week in week out to get better and improve.

He need to show Rafa that he really want to play. Right now he makes it very easy for Rafa not to play him.

                  In short, lack of ambition.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If that's so then masher and lucas would be in the pooh too.

I'd pretty much agree with that.

So far in his Anfield career Babel has shown glimpses, and only glimpses, of great talent, but he has to relaise that by matching it with hard work, the correct attitude, decision making ,and also fitness. Far far too often has he faded completely from games when he has started, and at the moment for me he is best used as an impact substitute until he gives Rafa some real reasons to start him ahead of others.

I'd far rather Riera start on the left, he gives us good shape and is a much more complete footballer than Babel currently. Maybe not as naturally talented, but talent is not all that makes a successful footballer... just ask LeTallec!

Oh, and in no way is Babel better than Gerrard, that's completely unnecessary hyperbole.

I said : only in some aspects Babel is better than Gerrard for ex. the way accelerates past a defender is incredible.
And Babel is ony 22 !!! Hopefully he'll get time to prove himself!

babel is too easy to play against - welly him early and he doesnt want to know - like many tbf
but he also doesnt play well/ put it all in for 90mins - which is crucial to rafa and his plans

Agree he hasnt done enough & about his poor decision-making, fitness & workrate. He's really suffered from lack of preseason. Hopefully he'll come good & have an important role to play but he really needs to knuckle down.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

                              Something like this?

Seriously though, I know what you meant but Gerrard as an attacking force, played in a similar position to Babel, would, and has in the past, contribute far more goals, assists, and all round play than Babel, at the moment, could dream of. Babel can go past people, but its what he does with it next that concerns me a lot of the time.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the lad could really make it, but as yet he has not done enough, consistently, to make me think he will.
