And did we really feel we'd be top by a point at this stage of the season.
Course we'll win a few, and goals will start coming again.

    Chrissakes - just stop supporting.

The **** we will. How are we going to do that when we create **** all? This is Houllier 2002-3 all over again. He's built an unimaginative, uninspiring team, and he's spunked £20m on a player that doesn't fit. This is garbage. We've gotten out of jail so many times this season and it's just papered over the cracks. We'll be one of the worst sides ever to have won the PL if we miraculously do it this yr, which clearly we won't.

Did any lip-readers catch what Keane said when he saw his number flash up? I think it was along the lines of "If he takes me off I'm gonna something or other". Did anybody else spot this?
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

it's plainly obviously that we'll win every single one of our away games, isnt it. Not a remote chance that we'll fail to win any of them.

Being top of the league is meaningless in December. Meaningless.

Good job you only really post your negativity in these match threads mate.

I certainly care that we are top of the league.

                Why wouldn't I ??

Then we'll draw one or two, maybe lose another and Rafa is a tit and we are still way behind the other 2.

When were we last in this position?
We are in with a major shout at the moment and still so many on here are committing hari bloody kari.
We could not do that past Stoke. I can't even see us doing that against PNE at this moment in time.

Yeah, he said thank-fook I'm going off. Praise Rafa

                        Spot on.

Every time we get the chance, we f*ck it up. Ok, we could still win it by a point this season, but wouldn't we like to win it by a couple at least?

It's 6 wasted points now (Stoke, Fulham, West Ham) and that means that we have to get those points elsewhere.

Oh, I fear those mancs now actually.....

In december? Why does it matter. If we are second at the end of May, will it matter then? And it's a fallacy to state that we are in a better position than anyone else because of the teams we have played as opposed to the scum. Check their run in.

I'm sorry but all I saw was a terrible performance and it depressed me because I now doubt we can win the league under Rafa. I'm certainly don't see being top of the league for one or two weeks mid season as being as something to celebrate.

Pretty boring place if people only spoke sunshine and light, mate.

It's funny hey. Start of the season we get "Wait until the season starts proper before it means anything"

Season starts proper and we get "Wait until Christmas before it means anything".

Christmas is fast approaching and it still means nothing apparently.

Nice to see people are enjoying their misery so much that they keep extending it

Yes. A step closer to winning a title. Improvement is all we can fairly ask for.

By contrast if we're first mid may we'll still have people whining it's too early to judge, Rafa is incompetant and will throw it away, half the team isn't up to scratch etc etc.

Man Utd and Arsenal pummel teams who line up with 10 men behind the ball against them at OT and Emirates respectively with wave after wave of attack; we labour. Usually we're so poor on set pieces yet tonight they were the only phases of the game where we trouble WHU. If our set pieces went to form (ie ****e), we'd have created nothing. Keane at £20m was a complete waste, and even if he cost £2m i'd be saying the same; yes we needed a forward but not him and not his type. For that money we should have addressed the distinct lack of creativity in this team with a creative midfield/forward player, a Joe Cole or Arshavin for the right. We need a skilful technical player who can carry the ball, yet all we seem to have is hoof ball merchants.

Rafa waits too long to make changes. 65mins on the dot and not a second too soon. Riera was pants yet lasted until 77mins, Babel has been criminally under-used this season and should have had longer than 13mins. The only thing missing that would have made this ****fest complete is an appearance from Lucas, we should thank ourselves for very small mercies I guess.

Dossena looked very good when he didn't have any defending to do. Benayoun is rubbish, more expensive squad filler to add to Rafa's collection.

Am rapidly losing faith in Rafa, his defensive approach, cautious tactics and disastrous summer dealings.
Overt the top post Dhav sorry. We aren't playing well right now but we're still top. To say that we only do '****fests' is a disgrace. I've never seen supporters batter a top of the table team.

We have missed Torres for most of this season but we're still there. We aren't playing well that is obvious but all teams go through that type of spell.

fredo - i admire your positive outlook but I'm devastated by that result. We are one point ahead of Chelsea. If we knew how to break down Fulham and West Ham at Anfield we'd be five points ahead. Five.

West Ham, Marseilles, Fulham, Portsmouth, Stoke, Atletico (all at home) - we scored three goals and really struggled in all these games. No cutting edge and we were lucky in the games we won. Two late penalties from Gerrard.

Wigan, Boro - Last gasp winners having been losing both, at home.

This is very worrying. We've become an away team, we can only attack effectively when the opposition comes at us, like Chelsea or the scum, or anywhere away from home. Coming to Anfield is too predictable. Rafa and the players must know what is going to happen but we are too conservative. We are poor from set-pieces and in the air so why is this our style of play. Our only decent winger, Albert Riera is now coming inside and playing sideways ball to the centre-mids!!! He's got Bennyoun disease!

We've been found out. I'll be floored if we win the league now. Unless Rafa changes his way of playing at home.
