    taking off keane counter productive.

i know keane as not realised our expectations but you don't turn into a bad player overnight and it is obvious that he lacks confidence, but taking him off every time is not the best way of installing that confidence in my opinion the same thing is happening with babel who in my opinion again is a great prospect, is it because they are free spirits on the football pitch and don't stick to rafas game plan, you tell me. im baffled.

He needs to change his ****ing attitude pronto if he wants to stay in the team. He is being taken off every game because at the moment he is offering nothing to the team. Babel was on for a few minutes and almost scored. Time for a reality check for mr keane and maybe a few games in the reserves will sort it out.

Keane needs to have more of an eye for goal and keep it simple. A few weeks back he was trying flicks on the goal line (twice in two games?).
If he put them away with his side foot his confidence would have gone up and we all know how important that can be.

It's easy to say leave him on so we dont knock his confidence when subbing him but we have games to try and win. Tonight he offered nothing at all so the sub was right.

He's a shadow of the player he was last season but I agree, knowing he's going to get hooked after an hour can't be doing his confidence any good.

He might not have been playing well but taking him off for N'gog, a player who clearly isn't yet anywhere near the level required, was counter-productive.

agree mate, but i think one of the reasons for keanes demise is he is trying to hard and therefore running into positions that are unproductive, surely this can be something that can be solved mentally, the man as scored wherever he goes and loves the club, for example kuyt had a crap first season and in my opinion still has not set the world on fire, but rafas faith in him and not subbing him as led to him becoming a better player somewhat.

Did I really hear someone say at half time that Keane had only touched the ball five times in the first half? If true, surely that has to be some kind of record.

being substituted the most times in liverpools history might become a record though, even though the heavily overrated kuyt as stayed on the pitch playing far worse.

He's got a fair way to go yet. Currently the record for being substituted the most times stands at an impressive 100. Held by none other than Steven Gerrard.

That surprised me, to be honest.

Yep - a true stat. McManaman said it at half time.

Must be true Macca said it. He had his pen and notepad at the ready to tally the touches for 45mins.
