Was listening to a podcast from Giles from a few weeks ago about Keane. He was saying that he had never seen Keane up front on his own until he came to Liverpool. Said Torres has been doing it all his life. Might be something in it. Keane has been disappointing but to be honest tonight he had no service at all. We just don't have an out-an-out striker except for Nando. Love it if we got Owen back.

N'gog seems to have got a bit of stick already about last night. I actually thought he was alright. A little over eager maybe, but at least he was lively. He probably got on the ball more in the 30 minutes he was on the pitch, than Keane did in the rest of the entire game. He lost it a fair amount, as did Keane, but at least he was being direct and attacking.
If it was up to me I would have brought Babel on instead, but that isn't N'gogs fault. I dont think he's that bad a player.

I think those type of games DO suit keane. But Rafa got it all wrong by making him lead the line. Dirk was the one dropping off and it should have been Keane. I think Kuyt should have started on the right with babel up top and keane "in the hole". He's a clever player who should have been causing fulham all sorts of problems at the back. Instead he was isolated and his service was ****. Babel is obviously having problems with Rafa and if he wasnt so ****ing stubborn we could be three points clear.Originally posted by Nicey View PostPoor guy got no service last night ... but those games dont suit him lets be honest
Taking Keane off after 60 odd minutes every game is a ****ing joke and I find it hard to put into words how ludicrous it is to replace him with the striking version of Traore.

Beat me to itOriginally posted by JonesLegend02 View PostBabel should have started up front with Keane in the hole, enabling Kuyt to remain on the right where he has been phenomenal. Not rocket science, just putting players where they feel comfortable.
I do despair of Rafa sometimes...where was the pace in attack?

We didn't. We had Keane & Kuyt, then Ngog and Kuyt mate.Originally posted by tsb View PostWTF is the point of having one up front at home?
I feel for him and not sure what the best course of action to remedy his form is, but you can't blame Rafa for taking him off when he's playing like he is. It might upset Keane but leaving him on when he's so poor would demotivate players waiting for a chance from the bench. Tricky one."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.

I too was gobsmacked keane was took off last night
granted he hasn't been playing great - but it's not like he just walks round the pitch with his head down sulking and acting a cunt cause he can't be arsed - at the moment he might not be making an impact but he has head up, and he is trying, you can see it, he is doing everything he can to try and involved - but my main concern when keane went off was n'gog being the replacement!!!!! -
at least we know that whether or not people think keane is ****e, he can actually score at this level! - n'gog doesn't look like he could score at mr magoos'. I could totally understand keanes frustrations in being taken off again, and this time for a no mark kid who offers nothing - it's not like ngog has made an impact coming on from the bench in a previous game, or he is a hot striking sensastion banging them in for the ressies, you could hear the groans round the ground once everyone realised it was n'gog and not babel stripping off and coming on. I bet you for arguements sake, if it was nemeth or even pacheco getting warmed up most of the crowd would have thought "come on kid, get on there and make a name for yourself" - but with n'gog getting ready you could hear the collective - "What the ****!" being echoed round anfield.
seriously - voronin offered more than n'gog - and i don't want to hear the oh well he is young, give him time etc etc cause for this one i'm just not having it
- it's just a totally bizarre signing - i just don't know why we have paid £1.5m for him - surely there must be someone we could have knicked on loan for a season, or even just took a gamble and poached a top scorer from the championship as cover/5th choice striker for 6 months or whatever.
The best we can hope for here is getting that lad out on loan someone in the prem (or if not the championship at least) see how he copes with a regular run of games and then hopefully get our money back for himi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
