Terrified WAG Amii Grove and Liverpool FC star Jermaine Pennant were awoke by ram-raiders attacking their mansion while they slept inside.
Liverpool ace Jermaine, 25, and fiance Amii, 23, raised the alarm when a stolen Land Rover smashed repeatedly into their front gate.
The raiders then sped up the driveway of the £3million, four-bedroom executive home in Hale, Cheshire, before stopping at the front door.
Cops believe they were after Pennant's sportscar collection - believed to include a Lamborghini parked outside.
But the men were disturbed when Pennant woke up and ran downstairs.
The Land Rover then sped off and was later found burnt out in a nearby field.
The attack was linked by cops to a series of targeted high-profile robberies on Liverpool FC footballers.
A Merseyside force source said: "It was a well-drilled and audacious crime and it's a miracle no-body was hurt.
"After petrol bombing the car in a field the men sped off in another car in convoy so they clearly knew what they were doing.
"The victims are understandably quite shook up by the whole experience.
"Police are probing whether it is connected with similar attacks on Liverpool players in the area."
The high-powered car completely wrecked the sturdy wooden gate during the attack in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Jermaine said: "It was scary. We were woken up by a huge bang and went downstairs and they were trying to get in. We're just glad we're OK."
Cheshire Police said: "We can confirm that at 1.40am there was an incident of criminal damage reported at an address in Hale Road in Hale, Widnes."
Pennant only got engaged to Amii last month after dating for nearly two years.
The 32D model said: "I'm so happy. We haven't set a date because of hectic work schedules, but I want it to be sooner rather than later."

Would she still go for him if he joined Stoke though.
