Opening day of 1989 season vs Man City. Barnes, Beardsley & Glenn Hysen. What a fecking team! To top it off my uncle scored us 2 tickets right beside the dugout! I was inches from the King! 12 yrs of age & happier than a dog with 2 dicks! Great memories...jesus this is a great thread

I was at that game and remember us playing on a similar level to the famous 5-0 thrashing of Forest from earlier in the season.I hoped for another thrashing but we had to come from 2-0 down to draw thanks to two late goals in a minute from Nicol and Aldridge. I was at that game, too. Not a bad way to earn a draw.

              9th April 1983. Liverpool 3 Swansea 0
I was in the Lower Kemlyn, Kop end. I can't actually remember the first two goals (Rushie and Sammy Lee) but I remember David Fairclough coming on and scoring the third. I also remember Kenny hitting the post.

Charlton v Liverpool when Charlton were playing at Selhurst Park. 87 or 88, cannot quite remember.

It was the season we went 29 games unbeaten - Barnes, Beardsley etc..

Although I know my Dad had taken me a couple of times before, the first game I actually remember with any clarity was the 11-0 win v Stromgodset in 1974, still our record win. Went in the Anny Road, which, fairly obviously, was all standing at that time, perched rather unsteadily on a stool my Dad had made.

Got there 5 minutes into the match and missed the first goal. Left 5 minutes before the end and missed the last goal, which was the one most people had been waiting for - the first time Ray Kennedy found the net for us. I've never left before the final whistle since that game.

First game in the Kop was v Middlesborough in the 1977 FA Cup quarter final. Three days after the St. Etienne match, 56 and a half thousand inside Anfield, a 2-0 win (Keegan and Fairclough), and the last time I ever saw my trusty stool, which became separated from me within the first minute (though I stayed suspended 2 feet off the ground for the rest of the game).

Don't think I'll ever lose the sudden thrill that you get when you first catch sight of the pitch on a match day. It's what green was invented for.

My first match was watching the 'Milk cup' final (as it was called back then) in 83, when I was 10, in the comfort of my TV room.

First time to Anfield was in late 2003, the end of the Houllier era

Was looking forward to seeing Kewell (who had been in fine form), and Owen.....both got injured the week before FFS.

Still i was absolutely buzzing on the train ride from London up to Liverpool, even though we had to leave at sparrows. (Im not a morning person)

We were playing Southampton......and they pretty much scored from kickoff FFS We'd pretty much just settled in, and then bang Brett Ormrod races clrear and tucks it into the net.....disaster. The crowd was not happy all game. Was quite sad actually

We ended up losing 2-1. To top it off the train ride home got cancelled, and we had to get a bus. Then halfway home this fella at the back wanted to get off, but the bus driver wouldn't stop, as it wasn't a scheduled stop. So this fella (who had a little kid with him) started banging on the windows and shouting....was quite unnerving.

The bus driver eventually caved after this loon went right up the front and started shouting at him. Meanwhile this poor kid was probably just sitting there thinking "my dads a ****ing cunt". He walks back grabs his kid and drags him off the bus.

When he got off the whole bus gave a big cheer This guy was going mental outside the bus, shouting at us

                              Yeah....intersting trip

My first actual decent level football game was at the 00 Olympics. They had some of the games in Adelaide. We saw Spain vs Sth Korea and Italy vs Honduras

Some cracking players were involved actually.

Xavi, Puyol, Jose Mari, Gabri, Angulo, Marchena, Luque, Tamudo, Capdevila and Albelda to name a few from Spain. We won 3-0

Italy had some wicked players too Abbiati, Zambrotta, Gattuso, Ventola, Pirlo and Ambrosini.
