My dad took my mum before they were married to her first ever live game of football at Anfield in the early 1960's. Bear in mind that she had only ever seen football on a black and white tv.

It was an evening game in the winter, with the floodlights on. As they reached the top of the steps to walk onto the Kop, my mum shouted out all excited "It's in colour!!"

....and yes she still goes to the match now at the age of 69 (with a muzzle of course)

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

My first Liverpool game was the derby against Everton in 2000, we won 3-1 and since being at that game I have followed LFC much more intensively than ever before.

Great atmosphere, meet some great people in the city, drank more pints than necessary and had a good time all weekend. The post-match experience was superb in that way and thankfully I had a room at a small pub close to anfield, with ****ty beds but "private party" afterwards !

My first game couldn't have been a better one really, Liverpool Vs Newcastle in April 1996, the 1st of the 4-3 classics, sat in the Main Stand right up in the corner near the away fans, absolutely brilliant game and the first time of experiencing the magic of Anfield on a big game night.

I'll never forget the roar of the Kop when Collymore stuck away that goal in the last minute, quality
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Can't remember the year, 87 or something. Derby county at home. Terrible game and we won 1-0 with a Beardsley goal. On the kop as a 10 year old was scary. Specially when my dad go threatened for openeing a bag of crisps for me "**** off and have a picnic somewhere else".

                      See, I'm not that old.

Even though I'm in my early 40's now I didn't get to watch a game at Anfield untill 1992/3, LFC v Aston Villa, we won 2-0. It was a bloody freezing Sunday but I absolutely loved it

1989 v Wimbledon in Plough Lane. We won 2-1 Beardsley and Whelan.
