Blackburn away - post match discussion

    3-1
Decent enough second half. Rafa seemingly trying to prove everyone wrong by playing youngsters and Babel.

I'm amazed we scored 3 goals in this game.

Fair play to Yossi, that effort won us the game. He should be looking for the goal more often.

And the team is answering the doubters in the right manner. Delighted for Benny because he was unfairly criticized today even before he put a foot on the pitch.

Hyypia was immense today. His passing was pretty good too! - MoM
Arbeloa was solid and offered something going forward.
Insua made a good league debut
              Carragher was Carragher.
Babel was **** in the first half but improved in the 2nd when played on the right. Got taken off soon after!
Mascher is seriously off the boil. Is it me or is he pushing further forward and making us play deeper?
Alonso was awesome. Kept possession, set one up and scored one too.
Gerrard looked static in the first half but better going forward in the second.
Benayoun - Frustrating but scored a wicked goal. I wish Pennant would have done this.
Kuyt - Not much service and not enough pace for a lone striker role. Played so much better in the 2nd half with a bit of service!
Reina - Great save from Pedersen and commanded his area well.

Yep thought he had an ok game today ... Masher, Stevie and Babbs were a worry .. still playing through bad form .. mark of champions .. 2nd half much much better

Insua .. for me would be first choice after that performance .. .. very impressed ... El Zhar immeasurably better than Babbs

Well obviously can't grumble at the result. I could hear a few knifes being sharpened before Xabi stuck his chance away.

Until the goal, I thought Babel was a decent threat. Kept the BB defence busy and had a decent chance or 2.

1st half Gerrard was too deep. Why? We had Xabi and Masher there. Thats like 7 at the back. Much better 2nd half. Liverpool made me smile again (and punch the air). I was a bit stunned by the Babel sub for El zhar, but the lad did ok.

Great vision by Riera to knock the ball over to Stevie. That guy is so composed on the ball it's unreal. I can't believe he's even come under question. Happy week ahead staying top!

It's just a case of fine tuning our home form now and I have no doubt that it will improve. Our passing has been a bit off key and without much pace lately and that is why IMO we were struggling to break teams down.

Being first will allow us to recover our form and we'll be very hard to dislodge now. We're first and we have so much room for improvement still.

                        **** the realists!

That's his natural game he isn't a centre forward.

I'm really cheered by that performance actually. We played in exactly the way Rafa tends to want us (at least in the second half I saw) pressurising and gradually wearing teams out and taking advantage. We could do with more players getting close to the central striker but other than that I thought we were efficient and well organised and got what we deserved.

Still no signs of progress from Babel really from what I saw.

I hope Keane reacts well to his non-appearance.

And Babel complains why he doesn't start more often with **** performances like that. El Zhar looked pretty good when he came on.
