I really think if he wasn't quick no one would be calling for Babel in the first team.
thought he was pretty decent today ... his delivery was a little wanting .. but his movement and endeavor was good ... very clever little player and as usual .. under appreciated

Why does everyone pick on fredo?

        Oh yeah.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He has obvious talent but unless he starts backing that up with workrate than he'll never be a starter week in week out for Rafa. His talent+ Kuyts workrate = superstar

He needs to develop Kuyts game intelligence too. Although any game intelligence would be a good start.

                Good result, the minimum required

I'm glad Rafa listened to the realists today and played one of our promising youngsters, played Kuyt up top and dropped Keane. End result, 3 points.

If only he'd done that against Fulham and West Ham hey

                :-O

Yep, the few doubts that were creeping in have been put to rest for the moment. It is like the first half we just sounded them out. Lets see what you have Blackburn. Then the second half we just said, we'll have a bit of that muchas gracias!

I was getting into a state where I didn't think we could score any more. Problem solved today. Lets kick on and hopefully have a very merry xmas in front of the Manc's.

The kid El-Zhar has had far less game time and yet positively influenced far more games than Babel this season. He's come straight into the team from the ressies with almost no first team experience and yet has an impact almost every time he comes on.

Bottom line is that Babel needs to play much better. He doesn't deserve a place in the team at the moment imo.

ok, so we didnt have the best game in the first 45mins. but we showed title winning credentials in the second half by coming out and doing the job. Was at the game, great atmousphere.

what i dont get is that, what right do people have to say i cant support my club just because im from southport. really angered me this=[

Rafa often seems to use the first half to suss opponents out, then looks to win it in the second. Obviously in Istanbul it almost backfired and he has complained in the past that things went so badly in the first that he couldn't turn it around in the second, but basically we are going to have to get used to **** first halves and keep the faith at half time.

Reading on here at half time, i was glad I hadn't watched it, but Sky gave it game of the day - must have been a great second half...

Being first will allow us to recover our form and we'll be very hard to dislodge now. We're first and we have so much room for improvement still.

                          **** the realists!
Always looking for an argument aren't you Fredo?

The realists were right, Rafa listened to them for once

To be honest at half time I was ready to watch C Beebies with the kids. But all it took was that half arsed shot by Alonso and then the feeling of all the luck and good fortune came flooding back.

I'm sure all the other teams fans were expecting us to slip up today. Well we didn't, so fook off!!!

Fairly poor first half, better in the 2nd and well in control for the last half hour.

Never really troubled today. Great save from pepe 1st half and Hyypia was superb, brilliant, immense and whatever other superlative you care to mention.

I can recall some posters in here saying he shouldn't have played. Realists?
