Winning doesn't mean that we win the group though. We could play our full strength team, win the game, and still finish second. It's not in our own hands so there's no need to risk all of our strongest players in what could be a futile exercise.

A decent team, will be interesting to se how it fairs...

PSV really dissapointed me in the first match, they where much poorer than what I have come to expect the last few seasons and they are also poorly placed in the Eresdiv.

I think we stand a good chance eventhough we are not in the strongest line-up...

That's a fair enough point. Would still rather do everything we can but I get your point.

          Thought that was quite funny

Rafa's got that pretty much right. Shame Darby doesnt start, he deserves a run out and Arbeloa could do with a rest

We should, but I fear we are in for a frustrating evening, hope the lads prove me wrong and put in a real effort and show some determination and will to win.

That's right, only 2nd place teams, and non-English of course. Our odds of getting an easy draw are much better if we can come first .. though as pointed out, we could get an in-form (by then) Real Madrid, or Bayern Munich if we are unlucky.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Strangely enough under Rafa the only time we did win the group we lost in the second round! When we did have Inter and Barcelona after finishing second we won!

Why make it harder for yourself?
If we come first in only one league table this season I know which one I'm hoping for. And if we are still in first place by March, I'll be quite happy to sacrifice the Champions League for one season.

We won the group the year we played Barca. One more example of it not always being an easy game if you win the group.

I think a few will laugh but I am very excited to see Keane and N'Gog up front.

I think both have huge talent and I expect Keane to revel with a striker playing off him as opposed to him being the main striker. I also expect Lucas and Mascher to do alot better with Riera and Babel on the wings.

I'm not bothered particularly about the result, but I have been wanting Keane to get the position he plays his best football in for a while and I am expecting big things from him tonight. Ideally he would be playing with Torres, but N'Gog is an ideal player to fill in so we can assess Keane's true current form.

So far we have been seeing a false Robbie Keane as he has been playing alone up top or with a slow partner in Kuyt. People well may be shocked by their partnership.

I will not. They will be a huge success for the very reasons I have listed above. I'm suprised it has taken so long.
                              Forwards.......
