jesus wept - when did we sign that lucas lad
thought he had a great game last night - also ian st john picked him as his mom on radio city - even st john was gobsmacked
- fair play to lucas, tho he wasn't the only one, with us already qualified it took a bit of pressure off and gave these ''underperforming' players a chance to improve and ultimatley impress - for me I thought Babel, Keane lucas and dossena were excellent last night - maybe excellent is overdoing it but certainly compared to previous games thy had improved a 100% - also regardless of the goal and how well he took it, ngog had a brilliant last half hour
credit were it's due, rafa got the team spot on last night and those picked took their chance and rewarded rafa with a great perfomance, which even allowed rafa to bring on kelly spearing and darby!! - made up with last nights game, loads of positives.Last edited by PTP; 10-12-08, 10:16 AM.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

The thing is I quite like him in the more defensive role too. He is a bit like Xabi was when he first came defensively more about positioning and blocking than crunching challenges but more about short, possession keeping, balls than long raking passes. People tend to under appreciate that style as it is unspectacular but I think it can be very effective.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostHe played like he did because Stevie and Xabi weren't playing, when he plays in the same team as them his role within the team is different so he isn'r as effective.
He was brilliant at the end of last season when playing instead of Xabi
At the minute I would go so far as to say that is his best position for the PL as he is yet to quite be able to make himself time when higher up the pitch in the hurly burly of the league. I think he will do it as he seems to have the right attitude and clearly attempts to adapt his game to whatever role Rafa tells him to play."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

jesus, he had a decent game but nothing else. ha ha its funny seeing all the amazing comments here today when the lad played well, christ shouldnt that be a regular thing?!
Personally I thought we were average in the first half and merely good in the second, psv were dog**** bad whilst Lucas, Keane, Babel, Riera all looked good id have been ****ing devastated if they hadnt!
On another note until he scored Ngog was so ****ing bad we were basically playing with 10 men, after the goal he was ok so ill give him that.
Good win against terrible opponents.

he seems to have amazingly quick feet and he can create space for himself out of nothing, shame he seems to **** it up 9/10 times after that!!Originally posted by Darth Marty View Postjesus, he had a decent game but nothing else. ha ha its funny seeing all the amazing comments here today when the lad played well, christ shouldnt that be a regular thing?!

Sorry but it was clear to anyone who atched the game that he was far better then the 'decent' you give him. People have been quick to shoot him down so equally give credit where credits due. I've not been his biggest fan this season but lets give time. Ronalda and Henry didn't set the world alight in their first 2 years in the Premiership, so why is it we expect the likes of Dossenna, Lucus, Babel, Riera, Ngog etc to be different. There's so much negativity here anyone would think this is a blue ****e forumOriginally posted by Darth Marty View Postjesus, he had a decent game but nothing else. ha ha its funny seeing all the amazing comments here today when the lad played well, christ shouldnt that be a regular thing?!

Good win against terrible opponents. This city has two great football teams – Liverpool and Liverpool reserves

he was exceptional last night and looked the player that we all thought he was when we bought him.
composed on the ball, great passing and defended really well. Im almost choking on my breakfast when i say that i thought he got stuck in last night and looked a really solid midfielder.
hats off to ngog too because his hold up play was really good in the second half and his goal was very well taken. he has pace too.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

well, seeing as I watched the game and it certainly was not ****ing clear that he was anything more than "decent" I say your opinion is worth as much as my oopinion. Not much. Im delighted the lad played well but it was against poor opponents and until he plays to a high standard for more than 1 game in 25 then ill still view him as a disappointment.Originally posted by powerpack View PostSorry but it was clear to anyone who atched the game that he was far better then the 'decent' you give him. - whilst i see your point, i have to say it's only fair given the sheer amount of critisicm aimed at some of these players that you have to give them credit were credit is due and get behind them when they put in a much improved performance whether it was against psv, an all star XI or blyth spartans! some off these lads have been shot to pieces so whilst i agree lets not go overboard, lets at least be 'supporters' and get behind them when there is some positive signs!!!
it's all too easy to be negative and say, "well they should look good playing against that ****e" -i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
