possibly one of the poorest referees I've seen at any level, seemed determined to punish Liverpool at any and every opportunity. The boys played well and deserved at least a draw. Nemeth, in particular, played well and looked promising, but was not helped by that awful ref.

You're all right about the ref, he was awful last night...literally seconds before the foul where Ayala got sent off, a Bolton player did exactly the same thing bt got away with it!

To be fair, imagine how disheartening it must be to be a reserve ref.

usually refs at this level will be linesmen in the championship and also reffing at Conference level. This is how they work their way up the ladder. This guy seemed pretty clueless in what he did. They rely on good marks from the teams and observers to progress and it is unlikely that he will get anything from Gary Ablett who was shown on the touchline shaking his head in disbelief at some of the decisions - especially the Nemeth pen
