Unlike other average teams who have came to anfield, these lot don't play a tight 10 men behind the ball time of game so they shouldn't be able to pull of a 0-0.

Hull play quite an open attacking game and even if they tried to revert to a 6-3-1 formation like others have it wouldnt work successfully because they are not used to playing like that. They even went to Old Trafford and attacked them, so much so that they scored 3 goals.

Which is why i think we should quite easily cut them open on plenty of occasions and score atleast 3 goals maybe more.

4-1 to us. We should and probably will play our strongest team. It is very important that we do so. This is a must win game.

    ................Reina
    Arbeloa Carra Agger Dossena
    ........Alonso.....Mascher
    Kuyt......Gerrard.......Babel
    ............Keane

IMO we SHOULD be able to take a home game against hull as an oportunity to rest 1 or 2 players and still be able to put out a team strong enough to beat them. it's not as if i want to make wholesale changes. we have a very busy xmas period coming up when it isn't plausible to play the same 11 game in game out and expect them not to get tired. we need to take games like this one to give carra and arbeloa and alonso a break.
Your right, we do need to rest players but i just think its better to rest them once we've scored a couple of goals and more or less secured victory.

We've got 4 games left this year(2008) and then we can rest some of our players for almost 2 weeks.
We have Preston on the 3rd Jan(FA Cup) before our EPL match against Stoke on the 10th Jan.

I say we go all out for these 4 games and then the players will have a well deserved rest.
Lets just get on with the job and see how it pans out at the end.

Sounds good, but with Reira instead of Babel, he'd be more useful of the bench and Reina would be better in goal rather than behind Arbeloa.

Haha matt. Very clever. On the subject of Babel/Riera- I think Riera has had quite a few poor league games now and Babel's pace would be better against an open Hull team.

I like this quote from Hull. Seems they really will try to attack us which will suit us alot better than them sticking everyone behind the ball.

Phil Brown- "I am not going to put 10 or 11 men behind the ball and try to bore them to death. I am going to try to play some football."
"We will have a team capable of competing with Liverpool on a level playing field. We could go to Anfield with a fear factor and end up losing the game, but if you go with an away record like we have then we go full of confidence to take them on at their own game.

We should expect a very dull first half then.

I've got a feeling we'll turn these over. We're well overdue to hand out a drubbing and Hull will fancy themselves a bit more than the likes of Fulham and Stoke.

After Insua's showing last week I'm torn between whether I'd keep him in or not but I think Dossena will get the nod as he's improving and he's a bit better suited for a physical game.

Carra is also due for a rest and I reckon even Sami could outpace Dean ****ing Windass so I'd bring him in.

              I'd go with:

              Pepe

              Arbeloa Hyypia Agger Dossena

              Kuyt Alonso Mascherano Riera

              Gerrard

              Keane
I hope Keane doesn't lead the line as you suggest Matt. His comments the other day stated that he liked playing with NGog as he played deeper and utilised the pace of the frenchman to effect. For that reason I would play him in the hole with Babel up front to terrorise their defence

I think theyll give us a very tough game and i wouldnt be the least surprised to see this being a draw.
While i dont think theyll park the bus neither do i think theyll be gung-ho attacking and i would expect them to be compact and try to keep the first half goalless and have a go at us in the second.

if we get an early goal we will see a few go in today

                  keane will score
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

                      But that's our plan.

                      Exactly.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

they have conceded 25 goals in 16 games, can't see it being that tight to be honest.
