what some fans are thinking that we are used to seeing ferguson, wenger and mourinho make attacking substitutes when they need to win the game.

many times fergie will take off a defender to replace him with a forward to get extra men in the box when its 0-0 or they're behind.

These guys are willing to sacrifice their defensive line to try and win the game.

What people are thinking is why cant rafa do the same ?

Why wasnt keane put on against hull with 30 mins to go ? If its a goal you want you're more likely to get it from keane (4or5) than you are from lucas or babel.

Its his tactical thinking that pisses people off. He approaches the game from a defensive point of view which is opposite from wenger or fergie.

We praise Rafa for the good work he is doing but sometimes his decisions can drive you crazy because you are so desperate for victory

people are negative - if thats the word to use because we can see the league is ours to win or throw away
we are top - and yeah if someone said you will be top by the 15th december in august of course i would of taken it but anyone with a brain can see we arent playing well right now
we have 6 points from a possible 12 and our home form is a worry
it doesnt make you less of a fan because this concerns you ffs
we all try to be positive i like to think but the fact remains we are not playing well
saturday was a shocking performance and a bad tactical shout by rafa
we have a 20mill player on the bench and he makes 3 subs trying to win the game and doesnt bring him on at all
there must be a problem between rafa and keane - stands to reason

by all means get behind the team but dont be blind or stupid to think its all rosy in the garden when behind the scenes it isnt
still - isnt it nice to be top

lets go beat a poor arse team and im sure all will be smiley face time again

To all those 'moaners' I would just say one thing... Look at the League table.

This year the PL has reached an unparallelled level of competitiveness - from 6th position down to the relegation zone the gap is a mere 9 points. And the gap from 11th down to 18th is only 2 points!!

Every game is unbelievably hard now and every single point has to be earned. So for us to assume we should be rolling over the likes of Fulham, Hull and Stoke shows we are not appreciating how hard this league actually is and it is disrespectful to those sides.

To me that puts into context how well we have done to take top spot and we should not underestimate what a fantastic position we are in . A few more decent results this Xmas and there is every chance that we will be the real deal and actually challenge for the title to the very end of the season IMO.

No matter what anyone says about Rafa it is absolutely clear to me that the PL is his No.1 priority this season and he has put us in a great position - let him get on with his job without vilifying him after every so called 'bad' result because he wants this title just as bad as we do!!! Yes, respect that ****in fact that we have to actually ****in play the ****in game to a ****in high standard to ****in get those 3 ****in points!!!!

Jeez... you are carrying on like you expect the ****in team to just turn up and lie down for us. It does not work that way - we have to ****in work and earn a win, so to me that would mean for a start we have to respect our ****in opponent.

this lot think we should form a guard of honour for them

we are liverpool - top if the league the most successful english team ever

remember that when your settling for draws against them type of teams

I think you completely misrepresent the opposing point of view. Just because we are 'the most successful english team ever' means nothing, absolutely **** all when two teams meet on a Saturday. We have to beat the team they put out and increasingly they are of higher quality that a lot of people on here credit them with being.

No one wants to give them an 'honour guard' as you put it and I think everyone agrees that we need to start beating the teams lower down the league. However to make the assumption that we will do it every time and give them no credit for their performances seems arrogant, intellectually lazy or out right dishonest.

No one will settle for draws in any circumstance but the current one - that they are enough for us to be doing well in the league.

exactly my thoughts - after my positive rant last week, i then go the game on saturday and i'm practically pulling my ****ing hair out my foault for being positive!

Anyway - thats' what frustrates me most with rafa/liverpool - maybe the reason tho that we come across as negative or rafaf isn't going gung ho at times is probably down to the position we are in...there is immense pressure now we are in the thick of it and rafa is probably thinking i'll take the point rather than gamble and go for the three and i can totally understand why he thinks that but.........

for me on saturdy - after a bizarre openiong 30 mins, once it got half time level you could just sense round the ground what was going to happen.

I'd like rafa to a bit more flexible, he seems so rigid and stuck with his calculated routine that he comes across as stubborn in my eyes

On saturday, 5 mins into the second half every one could see that a positive change needed to be made, and needed to be done asap - not left with 20 mins or so to go, but with time still left to make a difference.

Kuyt was clearly struggling up front on his own, his touch wzas poor and the hull defenders had it easy - why not try and upset them and give them something to worry about and have a go at them - why not gamble and say took of yossi and mascherano and brining on keane and babel and playing them up front with with kuyt - so then the hull defenders all of a sudden are under a bit of pressure with three attackers rather than one.

or another option - i mentioned this a few weeks back, possibly after the west ham game - once again during a desperate 2nd half, xabi alonso dropped so deep that he was practically centre back - now like the other week i ain't critiscing him for doing so I understand why he does it, he drops deep to try and find space and get the ball, whichs is great, but if is going to do that, why not say, ok then xabi, you sit deep, dossena off for keane/babel - play carragher arbeloa and hyppia as a back three and xabi you sit in front like you doing, and lets get another attacker on the pitch. I mean ffs hull brought on Dean Windass, so it's not like he was goign to trouble us with pace at the back and hit the back three on the break or anything.

So thats what frustrates me the most, the seemingly lack of ambition (certainly at home) but the reason for the negativity is prob cause we are in a strong position in the league and rafa won't gamble.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I said we should understand that there are no easy games, so when we were 2 nil down at home, I for one was ****in proud at the character we showed to come back and equalise so quickly - tough ****in luck we didn't win but that is football mate.
