    Loan Moves

Are we above such moves these days? last big name I remember coming in loan for us was Anelka.

Could we get someone like Podolski on loan?
Utd got a lot of positives when Larsson joined them and given our perilous financial state surely a loan move is the right one to take?

McGeady and Finnan would be two good moves if we could get them. Spurs want Finnan and McGeady with the view to a permanent move would be a good one although Celtic would be crazy to loan him.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
    everyone wants to know

I've watched him alot for Ireland and he's had one good game.He flatters to deceive for me,SPL makes him look a world beater.

He's got pace and trickery but very often no end product,i.e. another pennant.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

There is no way Celtic would loan him out. They would sell him for a good fee though

And why would we need Finnan when our current right back is playing brilliant? We have Carra and Darby who are perfectly capable of covering if he gets injured.

I would def like Podolski but im not sure if Bayern would let him leave on loan, wouldn't do them any good.

Thats the thing about loan deals, we can only take on the world best players nowadays to compete and them players usually aren't available on loan

I take the point, but surely there are a few top drawer players at the big continental sides who arent getting games-thinking of Podolski, Saviola, crespo etc who could do a very handy job for us for a short period of time at minimul financial exposure?

That maybe so. But look at it this way, Loaning Babel out to Ajax would initially benifit everyone as he would get games and progress as a player, we would maybe get a small fee and Ajax would have a good player.

But what if Riera got injured or suspended? We would have lost the player best suited to filling in for him. The same applys for Bayern. What if Toni or Klose got injured?

The only point in a loan is if the player is being disruptive, or the club needs the money of a sale in the summer.

I should also add that one of the players you mentioned would be guaranteed a first team spot here either, so the player comig in would not benifit.
                Forwards.......

i'd like to see us try and get Podolski on loan, for 6 months.. Highly unlikely to happen though

I don't think Saviola or Crespo are possibilities - Saviola hasn't done all that well for a number of years and if we had been interested we would have been in for him in the past and Crespo wanted out of England. Podolski blows hot and cold and I don't think would really fit any of the criteria we really need.

I think in the current climate there will be more loans and or player exchange deals done though - so the idea of a us loaning players is something I wouldn't discount.

Luis Garcia is available on loan. I would take him personally and he always scored important goals. Owen on the cheap too and the league is ours.

garcia and owen would be an excellent january.

both are match winners whether they play 90 minutes or 90 seconds.
