    Insua

Should be first choice left back, ahead of Aurelio.

Good defensively, very good going forward and doesn't shy from the game. Has what it takes.

yup grew in confidence as game went on and was a constant source of attack and variety down the left, some nice bits of skill as well and looked fairly pacey as well.

Never been impressed with Insua, today he played like a left sided Arbeloa: good at everything he did. Should have two good assists if only our lads knew how to finish.

Great delivery near the end of the game. Moved from one foot to another then put it in early, the sort of balls that get goals.

Easily the man of the match. And those of us who have actually seen Insua play before on numerous occasions will know that he's capable of a hell of a lot more. Suprisingly, his crossing was far better than when he plays in the reserves. Fingers crossed he'll get more appearences in 2009.

agree 100% we could do with a similar player on the right too

I thought he was going to be good last season when he impressed for the reserves, then I changed my opinion when he didn't kick on.

He has proven me wrong and I would have no problem with him getting a run of game. Big well done to Rafa because he took a chance and it paid off, hope he takes a few more and we can find a couple more gems.

Done well today, as he did at Blackburn a few weeks back. Deserves a run in the team now.

a fine performance indeed no doubt he'll be dropped for the next game and won't even make the bench

the ball he put in near the end which el zhar got on teh end of was a proper touch, little chip cross. was as impressed with his performance as i was with plessis last year at the emirates.

i think that unlike plessis however there is a potential spot open for insua to kick on into, or at least compete regularly in

He was excellent today. Deserves a run in the team and on that display he is better than Dossena.
