Was discussing Insua with my mate at work and we can't seem to come up with a game where Insua has started and we have dropped points!! I'm sure there will be the odd one, but we generally tend to win when Insua plays.
Now I realise that he doesn't play many of the really BIG games, but he still has a very impressive record, and i'd love to see him make the full-on step up this year.

Did he not start in the draw against Arsenal at the Emirates?Originally posted by Parr_Zee View PostWas discussing Insua with my mate at work and we can't seem to come up with a game where Insua has started and we have dropped points!! Do you have any confirmation of this ?Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostNext season is his breakout year. With Aurelio ****ed until December apparently and the Doss staying, he won't have a better chance at cementing his place as first choice.
Bit scary though, instead of having Arbeloa and Aurelio we'll be stuck with Degen and Dossena as back up full backs.
We need this guy and Johnson to have very good seasons.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

If Aurelio's injury means Dossena's staying, then he's probably ****ed for a few months at least.

10 wins and one draw last year. not bad at all.Originally posted by Parr_Zee View PostWas discussing Insua with my mate at work and we can't seem to come up with a game where Insua has started and we have dropped points!! The opposite of Gareth Bale at Spurs then
If it's true that Aurelio is injured then I can still see Rafa getting rid of Dossena and then bringing Heinze... just a hunch

MASCH: WHY INSUA WILL GET EVEN BETTER
Javier Mascherano expects compatriot Emiliano Insua to take his game to another level next season after an impressive 2008-09.
The 20-year-old made 13 appearances at left-back last campaign despite the presence of Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena.
Fellow Argentine Mascherano thinks Insua will give his more experienced counterparts even more of a run for their money when the new season gets underway.
"He's been doing well," Mascherano told LFC Magazine. "Obviously he is a young player so can still improve and get better.
"It isn't easy to be playing for the Liverpool first team at just 20-years-old. I'm really happy for him."
Insua initially joined Liverpool on loan from Boca Juniors in January 2007 before the deal was made permanent later in the same year.
Mascherano added: "Emiliano didn't play first-team football in Argentina, so to come here at such a young age and make the breakthrough is a great achievement.
"It would have been easier for him had he played first-team football in Argentina. Everything was new to Insua when he came here. But after just two years he is playing really well whenever he gets into the first team."
