Kuyt is pants. I'm sick & f**king tired of hearing about all this "good work he does that nobody sees". I'm baffled to even imagine any "good work" that can't be seen. He's atrocious. A gimp. I simply refuse to believe any other team in the top 6 would have him anywhere near their satrting XI.

The hard work he does is evident for anyone who has eyes - the biggest criticism of him in the past is that he lacked the skill to back up his hard work.

Yes, but a winger's abilites are all about flair, acceleration, good passing and technique. And other clubs have Messi, Ronaldo, Walcott ... even Aaron Lennon is better in that position.

A wingers other abilities are about interlinking with the fullback, covering when he gets forward, helping out when the opposition press. His other roles include linking up with the striker, joining in attacks, getting into the box...Kuyt does everything that is required of him as part of the Rafa machine. If we had a player like him on the left (and Riera may yet be that player...he's got more flair, but less of an engine in him and nowhere near as much game intelligence) then we'd be sorted.

If the roles had been reversed yesterday, and Gerrard had put the ball in only for Kuyt to miss it, how many would be blaming Gerrard for overhitting the pass, and how many would be blaming Kuyt for missing an open goal??

i would have blamed gerrard for an overhit pass there myself had the roles been reversed. i really do think if the two players in question were torres and gerrard it would have resulted in a goal.

I love the guys work ethic, if only some others applied themselves like he does. But he lacks that touch of class that we need in the final third.

BUT he ****ed that ball up. Yes he had to have a bit of pace on it....but he bloody smashed the thing across goal. Im surprised Stevie actually got a foot to it to be perfectly honest

It's been 5 Premier Lg matches without a goal or an assist.

Apart from this, Rafa's wonder boy seems to lose too much the ball and all he does is simply:
a. pass the ball backwards.
b. pass the ball to the player next to him
c. shoots
d. gives the ball away when trying through pass.

Did somone notice him yesterday how many times he lost the ball???
And why the hell he is never substituted???

Kuyt plays for Liverpoll yes but I cannot see an attacking minded manager choosing him in his side.

And when Keane has a bad game we all criticize him and he is substituted after 60 mins.

Hate to let facts get in the way of a good argument, but against Blackburn Kuyt got two assists.

Against Hull, Kuyt played the cross for Gerrard’s first goal that didn’t get credited as an assist because of a negligible deflection. He also won the header for Benni to lay it off to Gerrard for the second. Pivotal in both goals really.

So in the five games you talk about, we scored six goals and Kuyt was essential in 75% of them. What’s that say for the rest of the team???

Yes, one of them when he didn't hit the ball properly and the ball bounced back to Alonso.



Anyway, hope that tonight Kuyt will score after 9 or 10 games.
After all that is what he is supposed to do!!! And hope that we will know that Kuyt is playing (after the way he played in the Stoke game...)
