Bad argument.last 3 years we've been the best team in the second half of the season. How they can have 2 more points than us but be 7 behind us I'll never know

My point about the Sunderland game was, looking at the form of both sides going into it made people think it was an easy win for them yet it proved anything but.Yes they won but 6 points in their 2 games in hand are far from points in the bag IMO.

Wonder when they'll play these games as well, they might pick up injuries due to fixture congestion who knows. What I know is that we are top, and if we pick up more points then the other contenders we will win, doesn't matter how few points. Doesn't matter if we win the title on 70 points just that we win the bloody thing.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Lets just give them the title now in the name of realism.

People can believe what they want but the only thing any of us can be certain of is that right now Liverpool Football Club are top of the League. Its in our hands and who knows what the second half of the season will bring so just enjoy where we are now and see what happens.

I'll agree about the fact that this year you can't guarantee the points in the way you have been able to in many previous seasons. The thing is though that United over the years have proven themselves under pressure and we haven't. I would say even if we have got more points on occasion United have shown what is needed to win the league and we haven't. That is in no way to say that we can't but the last few weeks have been surprisingly good for United and Villa IMO.

I think the title may well be decided by who has the first run of 5 or 6 wins on the bounce in the new year. Martin O'Neil identified the ability to go on long runs of wins as the difference between the big four and Villa and in previous seasons I do think that is what have set us apart from the likes of Everton and Villa who have challenged to some degree or another for CL places. It will be interesting to see if it happens again this season.

I believe it all comes down to one man! Fernando Torres! - seriously! - If we get torres fit and on from and produces anything near what he did last season during the second half of this season I believe we will win the league.

The fact that we have got ourselves top at christmas without torres for the majority of the campaign, well if you had said that at the start of the season you would have got ****ing laughed at.

If he can come back and stay fit and find some form, it would just be a massive massive boost for the whole club, firstly the goals he will bring will win us the tight games, secondly the confidence and subsuqently the performences of the players will improve, fit and on from torres will bring out the best of any team, all of a sudden gerrard will be running riot, keane will be finding space, the wingers will be making more chances, every thing will really click into place, and then finally almost most importanly - as a result of the above all of a sudeen the fans will be up for it, the atmosphere will improve - we will just snowball into champions!

it's a lot to ask, but i really do believw that torres is that good, and holds the key - the lad can handle the pressure he was born a superstar so i have know concerns there, and he brings that much quality to the side that it gives the players a lift, the fans a lift etc etc

If he doesn't get fully fit and banging the goals in, then we may struggle - i do belive we will battle to the end, but without the goals then either united or chelsea, due to their experience of winning the league will be stronger favourites.

How we handle the pressure if we're still in the mix in April will defo be a defining part of our season. At the end of the day United had to win their first title once and they would'nt have known how they'd cope till they got in that position, indeed they lost it in 1992 to Leeds when they really should've won,a fact the stood to them well the following season. They sunderland game they showed bottle but also some luck in that a saved shot rebounded straight to Vidic in front of goal and you could argue we got no luck against stoke with the goal ruled out and we shouldve got a peno against west ham on any number of occasions when their full back handled various crosses.

Time will tell how we cope but I'd settle for us getting to that position cos I know it would stand to us in the long run
