Brilliant performance. Made up for Keane. Thought Agger and Alonso were outstanding. Riera had a decent game and it was a good goal. Stevie was the difference for the first two goals. Bennyoun had one of his better games for us. El Zhar was good when he came on and Insua improves every game.

Let's have Nando on the bench for Newcastle.

What a terrific game! Dominated every area, excellent passing - every player was superb. I thought Benayoun was really effective today, Riera was brilliant, Insua is fast making the left back position his own. Keane scored two, and there's definitely and understanding starting to develop between himself and Gerrard. Carragher was solid and was a real threat going forward. Hyypia and Agger were in total control at the back. Did I miss anyone?! I am starting to believe we can do it now.

Excellent performance. Right from the first whistle we were all over them.

Gerrard and Alonso totally dominated that 5 man bolton midfield. Totally dominated them.

Our defence was joining in with attacks and Keane was superb. Liverpool Legend in the making, shame on all those who doubted him.

Couldn't have asked for anymore than that, well done reds

Reina didn't do much. He could have got forward more. Joined in with some attacks.

But yeah, if we go into 2009 still top, maybe, just maybe we can ease off with the nerves and start to believe.

best i've seen us play at home in some time.

insua is a revelation and i doubt that i need complain about doseena much longer as i think he'll be moved on.

once we got the 1st goal the result was never in doubt. keane took both his goals well but still drops too deep too often imo. he clearly enjoyed himself out there today and i'm looking forward to seeing an inform keane alongside torres.

hyypia won most things in the air and carra played really well at right back getting forward well. think we may see a back 4 of carra, skertl, agger and insua a few times this season.

i do wonder about babel's future though. an attacker short on confidence like him would normally get pitch time when you're 3 nil up instead we see el zahr and n'gog brought on.

oh and as ever XABI ALONSO - clearly back to his very best.

i've always enjoyed boxing day home games, back home and avoiding the leftover turkey warming my toes up

Agree with those 2 points mate Insua is quality and imo the future for the Argie defence. When i was watching the game n the second half i noticed keane dropping too deep when he should have been going for his hat trick. Good goals though and i think keane will score alot more with torres and maybe Heskey.

Keanes first goal was an absolute peach and his second was one of those that earlier in the season he would have hit an air shot, but this time, with some confidence, he slotted home well. Good on the lad.

I'm really worried about Babel now. After his first season I thought he was going to be a big player for us. I can only imagine he doesn't have the "Rafa mentality" and that is why he's not getting any playing time.

Kuyt got back to his best as well today. All did and all deserve a shared MOM.
